I don't know how to imbed tweets but Feldman saying Hugh Freeze would be Les' OC. Thoughts?

Didn't HF have to leave Ole'Miss for calling an escort service? Not exactly what UA needs right now.

Re: Arizona Coaching Search
If that is true, then all the talk about Heeke looking for a clean candidate are bull. Les might be clean, Freeze is the exact opposite. I think that package would be quite interesting, but im not buying it.RondaeShimmy wrote:Not necessarily related to Arizona, but..btfd16 wrote:I don't know how to imbed tweets but Feldman saying Hugh Freeze would be Les' OC. Re: Arizona Coaching Search
Freeze knows what he's doing on the field. Off the field, there are NCAA issues and the prostitution thing. It's pretty stark as to what you say about Freeze. On field performance, legit. Off field, it's a bad look.btfd16 wrote:I don't know how to imbed tweets but Feldman saying Hugh Freeze would be Les' OC. Thoughts?
Edited to add an article about NCAA sanctions for Freeze.

Recruiting violations on top of hookers? In the environment currently, just can't see that happening. Certainly has some success at Ole Miss though.

Arizona has an active FBI investigation going on in regarding to paying players and you guys think there's a chance Heeke signs off on bringing in Freeze? Are you guys fricken stoned? Lol

They will likely not be worse than now. Thanks Miller and Byrne and RR and whatever that track coach is named.ChooChooCat wrote:Sure he absolutely could be, but the optics would be absolutely awful.btfd16 wrote:I plead the 5th.ChooChooCat wrote:Arizona has an active FBI investigation going on in regarding to paying players and you guys think there's a chance Heeke signs off on bringing in Freeze? Les has to be the guy, I mean Les is talking OCs while there's no other jobs open besides Arizona. Even if Hugh Freeze doesn't come,

"Why not, things can't get worse" isn't exactly an inspiring message to lead with. Freeze is a good coach, but that is not an exclusive market.PHXCATS wrote:They will likely not be worse than now. You'll hear a lot of back and forth and twisted stuff all here and there. Coaching searches are worse than recruits choosing schools.
Re: Arizona Coaching Search
Crystal Ball says there is an ever increasing demand for eunuchs in Washington, Hollywood and Tucson.
Re: Arizona Coaching Search
At this point I think it is Miles, Freeze or not. My excitement will be contingent on the OC hire.
Re: Arizona Coaching Search
Chief is correct. Coaching searches are worse than recruits choosing schools. This post kind of overlaps a number of different areas but it has to go somewhere. If even a few of the allegations about RR are true and I tend to think they are, his firing is more than justified. I honestly can't say much about the way Heeke has handled it. Especially if he knew weeks ago he had already made up his mind about it. Why weren't things ready to go. As far as I know the job isn't even posted yet and we can't announce a new coach until the job has been posted for ten days. This is one reason I hate starting over. Its always a mess and unless the last coach left a lot of talent behind and we know this one didn't, the first year is really difficult. We need to know who the new coach will be for a lot of reasons. This board needs to know so we know who to like or hate whatever the case may be. The players need to know and the new recruits need to know. The clock is ticking on this and I have some hopes that some of the recruiting can be salvaged.

Why are you stumping for a guy dumb enough to call an escort service on his work phone? Hard pass.PHXCATS wrote:BoooooooooooooooooRondaeShimmy wrote:

What is a worse decision: using a work phone subject to FOIA to call escort services, or having one of your affairs stand between your wife and other affair on the sideline?

FWIW Dodd at CBS says: "Sources have indicated, for now, former Texas A&M Kevin Sumlin may not be a candidate."
To me, this reads like his sources have no idea.

He paid his price, pun intended. He would be incredible here. With Miles, Freeze and Yates UofA would have the best combo of coordinators and head coach in the conference along with 18 returning starters. You make it seem like those are our only 2 options.

Just meant as a thought experiment and slight curiosity. One is RR so this isn't about our optionsAZarchery wrote:prh wrote:What is a worse decision: using a work phone subject to FOIA to call escort services, or having one of your affairs stand between your wife and other affair on the sideline?

Why... Why is this a thing. No to Yates.

Why? Everyone around here says recruiting is the biggest concern.....looks like it’s a great start!btfd16 wrote:Why... Why is this a thing. No to Yates.
Re: Arizona Coaching Search
Because I think Sumlin could do much better at recruiting, keep Yates and provide an attendance spike which is badly needed.AZarchery wrote:Why? Everyone around here says recruiting is the biggest concern.....looks like it’s a great start!btfd16 wrote:Why... Why is this a thing. No to Yates.

I should put in for that. It's a salary bump, normal 40 hours a week and only requires a bachelors. My JD means I'm almost overqualified.azgreg wrote:They finally posted the job today.

Deserves a hard look. Young, good recruiter, poly pipeline, defensive minded, alumni, might stick around a while longer than the other mercenaries mentioned so far.

Better than the retreads imo
Re: Arizona Coaching Search
Why not Yates? I like how the D is trending. That's all on him.btfd16 wrote:Why... Why is this a thing. No to Yates.
Re: Arizona Coaching Search
Would rather have him as a DC with play calling abilities and HC in waiting.UALoco wrote: Deserves a hard look. Young, good recruiter, poly pipeline, defensive minded, alumni, might stick around a while longer than the other mercenaries mentioned so far.
Re: Arizona Coaching Search
I am tired of triple digit undersized defenses. Plus, I agree with Chief that we need to spark attendance. Yates doesn't do that.UALoco wrote:Why not Yates? I like how the D is trending. That's all on him.btfd16 wrote:Why... Why is this a thing. No to Yates.

Re: Arizona Coaching Search
I'd like him a lot better as a recruiting coordinator/Co-D/c. It's just a hard sell if you have other names like Miles (national championship as a HC) out there. I get the appeal of an alum, but generally D-line coaches are not in the running for a P5 HC position, period.UALoco wrote: Deserves a hard look. I feel like a lot of this is just impossible without knowing who actually is able to be acquired. Yeah, I'd take him over Butch Jones. There are other names out there that I wouldn't feel the same way about.
