8 Trevor Wood

Wood is a 6-6, 265, redshirt Junior tight end from Scottsdale, AZ. He played in every game as a True Freshman as a blocking TE as well as on special teams before missing 2015 for an injury. Last year Wood played in every game with 2 starts catching 7 balls for 49 yards.

This is his year! Well, it is if the coaches actually use the tight end in the passing game. Wood is big, fast, reportedly has great hands (hasn't gotten to show them much outside of practice), and is a proven blocker, plus he now has Calvin Magee, a former pro tight end, as his position coach. If Coach Rodriguez can't figure out a way to get the ball to Wood then he will never use the tight end. Get the ball to the big guy and good things will happen!

8 different Wildcats scored a TD in Arizona's 77-13 victory over NAU in 2015. Trevor Wood was not one of them. In fact, there was only 1 tight end catch that entire game.

Excellent decision by Wood. With his size and ability he will be welcomed at many schools; hopefully ones that are actually good at football. Despite who the new coach is, things will get worse before they get better. I feel bad for Tate and feel he should consider transferring as well.

Hopefully he can use this transfer as a trajectory into the NFL. If not he left his friends when they needed him the most. Really TW?

Excellent decision by both Wood and Rutt to leave, both got beat out by freshmen.

However no idea why Tate would leave. He would have to sit out a year and have to deal with QB competition. At Arizona he is the man.

You apparently have the same misguided definition of the term 'loyalty' as our current POTUS. The kid was sold a bill of goods when he came here and gave 4 years of nothing but commendable effort & behavior.

Just when I thought I could not possibly read a more moronic post...

So we traded Trevor Wood for Kevin Sumlin...Heeke working some magic!

Good luck to Trevor. It always sucked Rich Rod kept moving positions on him. Felt he was better suited for DE as not sure he had the speed to be an impact TE. But I know he feels he is a TE and with Wolma he was not going to see much playing time there outside of being a blocking TE.

And to anyone talking shit on him, remember the guy is a going to be a graduate from U of A so he is a Wildcat for life. He put in 4 years here under a shit coach. He owes this program nothing.
