What I don't understand about this whole coach search cycle is how come nobody is reporting on airplane tail numbers?

Hear there's troubles in New England, maybe Bill Belichick needs a new challenge, making AZ football into a national power would qualify.
Had some time to digest this whole likely Sumlin is the hire thing, horrible defenses he had and personnel management problems especially at qb, still a bit concerned about the retread status, feels like a 5 yr max solution to me, which would be about average anyway...tho if he could win at a .667 clip, would be certainly be a win vs. what we've had.

Horrible defenses? Have you watched any Arizona games since about 2010?TheGreatCatsby wrote:Hear there's troubles in New England, maybe Bill Belichick needs a new challenge, making AZ football into a national power would qualify.

Here are the tweets, a couple of special teams guys.
Banks helped land a top Arizona recruit though, he'd be helpful if Sumlin is the guy wouldn't he?

Scheer is just toying with Catgrad97’s emotions. Making him spend another sleepless night on a phantom candidate....

Not sure if I'm allowed to say this but the problem with Affirmative Action hires is that criteria often becomes more important than all things being equal, as in a choice between 2 coaches fired from their last stop, one would pick the one without a national championship and worse records. Or in my case, shilling for Hunley, but that has nothing to do with race but his passion and I believe, his willingness to crawl from CA on his knees to coach here and truly give it his all.Chicat wrote:I’d prefer a qualified African American coach if he’s available and has mutual interest, all other things being equal. I cannot tell you how many times concerns regarding a (sometimes major) product deficiency are met with the retort "Well it cannot be THAT big of an issue because people keep buying our product!"
That response usually comes from beancounter types. Go figure.

Yep, more butts in the seats means RichRod is still the coach. With an improved record and improved attendance, what’s the impetus to fire the guy?Harvey Specter wrote:Try explaining that to Machina. If it is Sumlin, I can’t wait to hear complaints about this being an “affirmative action hire” quickly followed by, “Look, I’m not racist. I knew this Black dude once...”
It’s gonna be tremendous.

If we're hiring a coach who runs the triple option we're better off bulldozing the stadium.

Arizona: Source tells FootballScoop one of the candidates DHR has supported throughout this search has been Navy head coach Ken Niumatalolo. A hire is coming soon. Will be interesting to see if Arizona decides Ken is the right man for the job; and if they can get a deal done. Stay tuned…BMalo wrote:FootballScoop reporting Navy coach Ken Nuidjsjfkrndjsj has been an identified candidate by DHR. No triple option plz.
DHR is the search firm..

Why do we assume he would run triple option here? All the service academies do it because of the size of their lineman and the inability to sustain blocks against D1 teams to run offenses that rely on passing or grinding it out between the tackles.
