Well the Pac 12 is always raising the bar, which is good. But in this case, this shouldn't have done this unless we also dropped one conference game. It will be that much harder to get respect nationally when we only have 5 bowl teams while the SEC (and other large conferences) have nearly double teams in. Great move, but maybe a little too soon. Especially after the conference's poor performance last year.

I'm fine with it. I actually think it should be 7 wins overall and a min .500 conference record.

Re: Six Win Mandate to be Bowl Eligible...
Same here, way too many bowl games with almost all of the lower tier bowls being money losers for the football programs being they are required to buy so many tickets.
When I was a kid growing up in Michigan, for the Big 10 it was the Rose Bowl or nothing. The Rose Bowl was actually secondary to the UM/tOSU game for all the marbles. Bo and Woody, now that was football!
Fortunately for Arizona, the PAC has a revenue sharing agreement where the expenses of money losing bowls are covered by the teams going to the bigger bowls. Other programs have refused bowl games since they can't afford the costs.
Still pretty sad to see all those empty seats though.
