Wow that looks fun. But the real question is, how many stands will those be available at? Because it's gotta be at least 1 on each side, plus obviously the NEZ

i'd take that all day. still is on the high end of likely outcomes though. I think we're more 6-7 win territory just with our lack of depth and still not good defense. a 6-0 start with a win over USC would likely have us in the top 10 rankings.

I swear Utah is always a pre-season contender in the south only to be 3rd or 4th every year.

in their 7 Pac 12 seasons Utah has finished: tied for 3rd, 5th, 5th, 5th, tied for 1st (but lost tiebreaker to USC), 3rd and 5th. so average finish of 3.8 in the division...yup. Never been last in the division but never have won it either.

It is a really favorable schedule. Houston and UCLA are only expected to be like 5-7 win teams so if they are in the top 5 that tells you on paper we should be going like 9-3 if we stay healthy and everything goes right. Wsu isn't even supposed to be more than like 8-4. USC is the only bonafide top 15 type team on the schedule as of now, although Utah, UCLA, Oregon, WSU and even Houston or someone else could end up top 25 teams by the end of the year.

Houston is going to be a really tough game for many reasons. 1 is they have the best defensive player in NCAA

Yea I was going to say, how good of offense is Houston going to have? That's a tough game, on the road, early morning start time, playing against the best defensive lineman in the country. If we go L there I wouldn't be surprised if Houston can generate decent enough offense against us.

I think Houston is a tough game given its a road game, early, in what should be really humid weather. Talent wise though, outside of Ed Oliver, they are not supposed to be that good

This is the easiest Arizona schedule I can remember in some time. The only games which really scare me are Houston, Oregon, Utah and USC. But honestly feel like the only games I would say are a guaranteed loss is at Utah on a Friday night and I think Oregon beats us at home provided their QB is healthy. I am not that scared of USC early in the season still breaking in a new QB in front of what should be a big home crowd for us. I am not sold on them this year given their QB situation. They basically will have a high school senior starting for them. I am not saying we beat them for sure, but I think we can hang with them.

We also have a really late bye which I think will come into play (Like the @Utah game and Oregon at home)

Sumlin could not have asked for a better schedule to begin his career here with missing both Stanford and UW which should be 1 and 2 in the PAC 12 this year.

By the way, this is all predicated if Tate stays healthy which I think is a big if

Feels like anything less then 8 & 4 this year will be disappointing.

IMO, anyone who doesn't tag the UCLA and ASU games up there behind USC just doesn't understand the dynamic between these teams. Both are always tough games from conference rivals. Maybe with Mora gone and Kelly in, there won't be as much vitriol out there on the field, but all these kids played against each other in HS and Camps, so they really bring it. And the ASU game, it is the ASU game.

I would be more nervous about the ASU game if it was at ASU.

UCLA will be tough but not as tough as at Utah after a short week. UCLA is picked 6th by Phil Steele in PAC 12 South.

At Utah in my opinion is the toughest game on the schedule, or better said, our least likely to win

Pre-camp we're pretty much guessing still. But re-watched parts of the spring game had saved on dvr, and a few things jumped out. D Line has better size, we'll see how that translates through to game 1, as in on game day is our line play stronger and more physical than it has been. We're not suddenly going to have an Alabama defensive line, but I'd take a fraction of that as we've been seriously outplayed at that position in years past and in college football that's a key area. But the RR era was basically a 3 man line with a 4th man coming up at times in various stance positions. Some new schemes there will help and we started transitioning into some of that last year. Can win a lot of games in college football with just 5 great defensive lineman and great qb.

And it was a lot of fun seeing Tate gallop through the secondary again on a big run. Thing of beauty how he eats up the yards as he's cutting across the field. Like any young qb just the process of better and quicker decision making is key for him. He broke into a backspin or early pocket bailout too early a fair amount of times, that's something to work on, as well as just staying healthy somehow and not taking unnecessary hits especially near the sidelines when he can just go out. But with his elite running back level breakaway speed, and the demonstrated ability to throw accurate bombs all over the field, he's such a tantalizing prospect.

I wouldn't be stunned if anyone can generate offense vs us. The D can be better, but we are a long ways from locking anyone down.

Absolutely. It may go from being absolutely terrible to just bleh but any team on our schedule save maybe Southern Utah still has the potential to drop 40+ points on us on a bad day.

Why is it required in the NFL?

Why is the Big 10 advocating for it?

I'd be fine with just revoking all media credentials for the Star. But it's certainly easier just to cut all the media off.

And if Hansen doesn't understand the dynamics of attendance being a delayed response to on field product, well, he and machina can go chat in a corner and leave everyone else alone.

Last season provided excitement and hope. 2016 just left us waiting to fire RR. Attendance will be fine this year.

Again why would it be a problem for Sumlin now when it hasn't been before?

Yes there is a reason why other leagues do it and I want it but it hasn't been before so why now? Betting is safer now than before the SC rulong

Sumlin was also criticized for not letting Manziel and others speak at A&M so its not a new strategy for him. I think it will only be a big deal if L's pileup and any limited interaction is hostile to everyone.

We have a high ceiling and a low floor. All depends on how much the defense improves, how healthy we stay and if we improve our depth. Cupboard is still mostly empty from RR at most positions so we can't absorb many injuries or anything happening. If everything goes our way..we can go 11-1. But if Tate gets banged up and misses a lot of the season, the defense doesn't improve and we don't have much depth improvement...we could still be a 4-8 type team this year. I still think 8-4 is what is likely.
