Gunnell is a 6-5, 222, Freshman quarterback from St Pius X HS, The Woodlands, TX. Hard not to be excited about a player who set the Texas high school record for passing (16,108 yards) and passing TDs (195). Better yet, Gunnell arrived in January and already has a semester as a Wildcat behind him. And best yet, players and coaches have been impressed by him in camp.
Hopefully, Tate stays healthy and Gunnell gets 4 appearances in mop up duty. But if we need a back-up QB in the second half of the year, Gunnell will likely get the call. He is Arizona's QB of the future.
