When you're an Arizona fan, as I've been for 40 years now, you see alot of bad teams. Not sure I've ever seen our program in worse shape.

Heeke needs to go. He hired this guy. He can leave town with him.
Of the 12 coaches, Rush picked the one whose fans have the deepest passion, the longest memories, the greatest lung capacity and … did I mention deep passion?

Yup. Get Heeke outta here
It's long past time to bring this back to the court, let's do it with a small update:
Re: Fire Sumlin
Robbins, Heeke, and Sumlin can all go. Let's really clean house.

Re: Fire Sumlin
Oh i really want you to explain that one. How is it RR fault? I mean he did rebound from a terrible season in 2016 by going 3-9 and rebound to 7 win season and bowl berth? If you want really want to go there It all being consistent. Arizona football is not a powerhouse that win 10-12 game a year. Arizona football is consistent on 7-8 game a year. If you want to shit on RR because you though Sumlin was going to do better? RR got the last laugh never should of fired him.DrWildcat wrote: ↑Sat Nov 02, 2019 7:32 pmIts funny that you think Tate is/was a good QB. Maybe he was good 2 years ago when he played RB but he was never a legit QB. Beside, he is scared to get hit now so he would probably even suck in the RR offense at this point.cordera89 wrote:You fools, Ask this question.
How do we go from 7 win team in 17? to two straight losing season?
How does Sumlin and Mazzone screw up Khalil Tate in Two season.
Let me put some fire into this insult. RR won with less talent and incapable Defense. Sumlin couldn't muster to win with less talent and incapable defense.
RR got us into this mess with his horrible recruiting and so far Sumlin has done nothing to fix it.

Jay Norvell? I know you can do better than that. He not ready for Pac 12.
Re: Fire Sumlin
I will officially burn my alumni card if that happens, because that would be conclusive proof that Arizona football, administratively, all the way up to the top, is run by people who don't have a clue about winning--and, more to the point, don't care.ChooChooCat wrote: ↑Fri Dec 11, 2020 10:52 pmWasn’t impressed with him at all at UW, didn’t have a long enough run to judge at USC, anyone can run a quality offense with Bama’s talent. We’re going to hire him and go 0-4 against ASU.
I mean, even Scheer is still bandying about RichRod's name on Twitter after tonight's embarrassment.
Why do you want the program you cover to literally immerse itself deeper in the feedback loop hell of fired former head coaches? Is there literally anybody left in Tucson smart enough to think outside that box and even SUGGEST the chance that needs to be taken to save this program?
Or is it up to just posters on this board to push Jay Norvell, Ken Niumatalolo or some other last hopes to douse this dumpster fire? Because you're not accomplishing jack sh*t from your armchair talking about what this or that former D-I coach can do at Arizona.
Steve Sarkisian...yeah, just keep blowing donor millions out the window, Heeke and Robbins. We haven't had enough of these carpetbaggers since Mackovic. Kiss my fandom permanently goodbye at that point.

Here one, How did we go from RR with 5 of 6 winning season to Sumlin that end up with Three straight losing season.
That not embarrassment, That a slap in the face.
Re: Fire Sumlin
Is he willing to leave Boise State for UA?
Re: Fire Sumlin
Now you're talking. Nobody in their right mind gives a red cent about RichRod coaching football anywhere near Tucson again.

Amazingly Brent Brennan was a GA here in 2000. He is also the brother of Brad Brennan. Also coached under Tomey at San Jose St and Rich Ellerson at Cal Poly. Not sure he has done enough yet to warrant this job but definitely some interesting connections. 6-0 at San Jose St is an impressive feat.ChooChooCat wrote: ↑Sat Dec 12, 2020 12:05 amThe San Jose State coach seems like a good option too.

Re: Fire Sumlin
I dont think recruiting have anything to do with Sumlin Failure to coach.
Second Arizona is not a powerhouse in recruiting.
If RR was able to win with Shitty recruiting at UA? Then Sumlin could of done the same damn thing.

You better hope a better job doesn't open up. If I was him I would stay.ChooChooCat wrote: ↑Sat Dec 12, 2020 12:05 amThe San Jose State coach seems like a good option too.
Re: Fire Sumlin
Being a GA like two decade ago doesn't say much. Any HC can go 6-0 at a school like San Jose St or any other G5 school. Tell me how many coaches like that have already done that and went on bigger job and succeed and failed.CopaCat wrote: ↑Sat Dec 12, 2020 12:23 amAmazingly Brent Brennan was a GA here in 2000. Better hope more appealing job dont open up for him to decline and look elsewhere.
Re: Fire Sumlin
I’m not sure what there is to explain. RR did not bring in much talent, much less than Stoops, and then Sumlin continued the shit recruiting. That’s all I was saying. Can’t consistently win without talent.cordera89 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 11, 2020 10:55 pmOh i really want you to explain that one. How is it RR fault? Now at this point it is clear Sumlin can’t coach worth shit but that doesn’t mean RR was worth keeping. I would have given RR another year based on performance but I still think he was trending towards being fired in the end.

Re: Fire Sumlin
Recruiting doesn’t matter?
Cordy, ask your boy RichRod if recruiting matters. Or do you think he just forgot how to coach mid-way through his tenure?
He went 8-5, 8-5, 10-4 with Stoop’s recruits and 7-6, 3-9, 7-6 with his own. He could have built on that Pac12 South championship season and Fiesta Bowl appearance by hitting the recruiting trail hard but instead he let his buddies who were assistants stay by the pool in Tucson and make the bare minimum effort to do any recruiting whatsoever.
Sumlin can’t coach. We see that. But if you also don’t have talent, your coaching deficiencies are going to be magnified.
Sorry Cordy, your boy RR ain’t coming back. I’d tell you to go root for whatever school he’s coaching now but his ass is unemployed. He ain’t the guy you want us to think he is. Quit trying to gaslight.

Re: Fire Sumlin
At least a couple. But I’m guessing they were already leaning toward decommitting.
If Robbins and Heeke decide to keep Sumlin they need to say so now. This loss and an uncertain future hanging over the program’s head will have more than a few recruits running for the hills.
If they want to fire him they should do so this week and float some exciting names out there to keep some of these kids intrigued. You’ll still get decommits from kids who feel loyal to Sumlin or the assistants but others will wait to see who we hire.

Re: Fire Sumlin
Yeah, and what about over the last few weeks players opting out? Is that Because they are done with Sumlin? Seems like the players are revolting against him. Unfortunately haven’t been able to stay in the loop as much.

Btw I fully believe this was partially a mutiny by the players or at least a majority of them. Take from that what you will. You don't lose to your rivals 70-7. Our team is bad no question, but we weren't this bad, and ASU sure as shit isn't that good.
