Re: New Coach Hot Board
Are we sure Robbins wasn't sent here by ASU to destroy Arizona Football for good? Only way this makes any sense.

Re: New Coach Hot Board
No idea who it is. Last I heard Brennan was still the top choice. But a lot seems to be happening that the guy I know isn’t privy to. He didn’t know about Fisch until it hit the air, but that may be because it was handled by Robbins.
Of the 12 coaches, Rush picked the one whose fans have the deepest passion, the longest memories, the greatest lung capacity and … did I mention deep passion?

Re: New Coach Hot Board
Nevada's season just ended, so Norvell?
Re: New Coach Hot Board
I heard its no longer Heeke's decision or in his hands at all.
Re: New Coach Hot Board
So....why don't we go riot outside Robbins residence?

Can Arizona fans pull a Schiano at Tennessee scenario?
Re: New Coach Hot Board
Update: Now I'm being told that Robbins might have lost this battle.

Re: New Coach Hot Board
Anything can happen, but it definitely looks like the good guys won here.
Re: New Coach Hot Board
As of 8pm PST tonight it appears the good guys might have won but there was no need for all this drama. There might be some damage to repair with big names in the booster and alumni world because of the drama created by a heart surgeon who thinks he is smarter than everyone. That's the latest I've got.

Can we still go riot outside Bobby's house anyways?

Re: New Coach Hot Board
My apathy unfortunately overwhelms my desire to sharpen the pitchfork. But if it does happen my 2/10 interest in AZ football will drop to a negative number.

That's a relief. Thanks for the update.UofAlum05 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 22, 2020 8:57 pm As of 8pm PST tonight it appears the good guys might have won but there was no need for all this drama. If that's true, and I hope it is, we turned a calm Sunday drive home into a white knuckle episode of terror for absolutely no reason, but we still made it home.ChooChooCat wrote: ↑Tue Dec 22, 2020 8:52 pm Anything can happen, but it definitely looks like the good guys won here.

Re: New Coach Hot Board
Between Ricky Bobby and Ben Carson can we continue to be impressed by titles like heart surgeon or neurosurgeon? And really—how eager are you to have your brain or heart operated on after realizing these guys were holding the knife for years? Any chance this could be the beginning of the end for Bobby at UofA? Fingers crossed

Re: New Coach Hot Board
Ok I am really excited. Our tumble to the depths of college football has awakened every strand of the AZ family. Fans and former players have rallied to start our trek forward and upward once again.
I really feel this will be an exciting journey. I can sense with BB former players maybe coming home to coach and definitely to work out and be around the program. I can see a well coached and prepared team each week and a very physical group of players.

Good thing. I didn’t want to have to read about somebody burning down the Sam Hughes neighborhood tomorrow.ChooChooCat wrote: ↑Tue Dec 22, 2020 9:16 pmYou know what? I'm not going to lie, I don't know lol. I just saw it though and it's obvious very appropriate.

Roberts' has demonstrated a pattern of gross incompetence, cronyism, and micromanagement. He's a case study in bad leadership and should be fired for cause. I hope there's a mechanism to challenge him.
I think it's a requirement to have a PhD/MD as a President but it's credential overkill as a qualification to lead a major organization. Instead we need an accomplished proven leader with a strategic vision (e.g. a successful senior officer in the military or CEO).

Re: New Coach Hot Board
In my experience most people with a lacking resume but multiple degrees are worthless and incompetent. My new CEO only has a BS and is light years above the MBAs in skills and competency.
Re: New Coach Hot Board
Is the thought that the, Good guys won, definitively mean Brennan or just not Fisch?
Brennan is about year from extension, parents went there, saying is making long term commitment, 1st year smelling success, and ahead of end of year bowl game, has me leaning Pierce. Just announced as interviewing today and announcing tomorrow seems a tad coincidental. Maybe some fellow alums called?
Also, not sure of his advancement at ASU due to structure, so maybe he was ready and wanting to make jump, despite politics and previous sentiments about U of A. Glad it's not Fisch apparently regardless!

Re: New Coach Hot Board
Apparently Fisch is not only an average coach but a world class asshole. Robbins is one of the very few who thinks he is a good person.

For those of you have that been around for a while and experienced the post-Tomey and post-Lute threads this is really a nothing burger.
But it is fun to watch.

Re: New Coach Hot Board
Brilliant really. You know who the guy is, but you freak everyone the fuck out by tossing up a candidate that absolutely no one wants. Mass hysteria ensues and then you announce your new head coach and it’s the best early Christmas present we all could ask for.
Merry Christmas!

because not hiring alumni has been so successful?Merkin wrote: ↑Tue Dec 22, 2020 11:32 am Been hearing calls for Hunley or Cecil for decades.
There is a reason why some coaches remain lifelong position coaches, although Cecil had one disastrous year as DC for the Titans.
So big giant NO on former players without any head coaching experience or at least success as a college OC or DC.
At AZ, it seems like you need to work harder than everyone else to be successful, so I would try an entire staff of passionate former wildcats who would kill for the program.
I like Cason's idea of lower paid HC and higher paid assistants. Maybe Chuck Cecil as CEO figurehead coach. He can also coach safeties or something. Joe Salave'a as the Pac's highest paid Defensive coordinator. Ricky Hunley coaches linebackers.
If we can't find Wildcat offensive coaches, bring Rich Rod back as offensive coordinator. Find a spot for Rhett as asst QB coach or something.
TRY something different.

Re: New Coach Hot Board
It is pretty amazing how today can go either one of 2 ways.
Extremely excited or a complete dumpster fire of a day. Seems like there is no middle.
Whatever is announced will also have a huge impact how productive my day is around the house.

File in the for what it’s worth department. According to fox sports, sun devil source reporting that pierce is the next UA head coach.
