Re: Conference opener at Cal
Lev tweeted he thought there might be some reaction to a physical game last week with NDSU. I don't know; I hope we're not shy. I realize he's a true freshman, but Jacob Manu completely whiffed on multiple occasions. Time for Tackling 101 all week. I'd say our undersized LBs are an issue, and we'll get a steady diet of A & C gap power stuff the rest of the year, until and unless we can show better against it. Obviously, the main issue is that we got pushed around all over the field, but I also wasn't crazy about some of the second half calls. Vatikani (71), used Ott like a blocking sled on more than one occasion, which isn't supposed to happen, and not sure why some of those plays weren't blown dead when forward momentum stopped. Whatever; like I said, the least of our problems, but a reminder of road games in the Pac-12. Not a fan of tank towns any more than Bill Walton is, but hard to help wondering how well the Big XII does officiating.
