The Big 12 is loserville. Townies or some dumb shit
What an idiotic take. The Big12 saved us from the fate of WSU/OSU.
And NO, the SEC/B1G are NOT going to come calling.
Losers love being with other losers
Explains why you love Phoenix so much.

He’s just butthurt everyone thought his PAC-8/AppleTV desire was the super dumb idea it continues to be.

Although this is the football board, since we are talking about conferences, as of now the losers in the Big 12 have 9 projected to be in the NCAA tourney, the Conference of Champions PAC 12 has 3.
It's one thing to say if something's going to happen anyway, you might as well get onboard. That's true enough. But when that something turns out to be a better situation that you otherwise would never have been allowed to benefit from, it's a different level. The ABOR would never have allowed Arizona to go on its own to the Big XII with Crow kicking and screaming about it unless the Pac-12 had been blown up. But the more I look into it, the more I'm convinced we'll be much better off. More opportunities in football, a better situation for men's hoops, and more national coverage for recruiting. And the next 2 or 3 non-revenue sports will be fine. It's the P4 instead of the P5, and some of the slots previously split between the Big XII and the Pac-12 should now go to the Big XII. Good riddance to the Pac-12 and the attitudes of its leadership. It's now a new and exciting era for Arizona athletics.
I am gonna live it up. Go on road trips and cheer for the Cats. But to act like you are awesome for being 2nd to last pick then you do you. Just know what you really are, slightly better than last.

I’ll meet up with him and his fam next year. Looking forward to it.

So you'll be cheering for the slightly better than last? For someone who always calls out people for loser talk you seem to fall into that category.

So you'll be cheering on a school in the second to last conference. More loser talk.

Just a note of kudos to Justin Spears. He's picking up where Lev left off in his spring coverage. Prior to Lev's coverage, somebody would wander out to practice apparently without bothering to make up a numeric roster off the web. Unless somebody handed a sheet to them at the gate, they seemed to just go on memory from the previous season. You'd get a few short lines that so-and-so made a good catch, or so-and-so made a big hit. And maybe a quote from a coach or player, a few photos (if they sent the photographer), and we're all done. But Spears, as Lev did previously, goes through all the position groups and talks about who is playing with who. It's all obviously subject to change based on performance over time and arrivals later, but it still gives you some idea about a possible two-deep and where we stand. And above satisfying fan curiosity, some of it is newsworthy. Conley and Doost on offense, Mailoto and Brown on defense, and the boost from three or four other transfers on the two-deep is part of the overall story. In any event, I appreciate the coverage.
He had a great quote explaining that he's a little more aggressive than Johnny Nansen. "I'm a little more vertical than just sitting on the line of scrimmage. Let's just say we're covering the run on the way to the quarterback." Love that.
Another thing I like about this coaching staff. They changed their naming/numbering system to fit what the players are already familiar with and successful with. Most (or many) staffs think when they show up, it's Day One of the entire known universe and Their System is the only thing. How about the fact that it's easier for a handful of coaches to get familiar with the naming conventions of an already successful system than to force-feed arbitrary labels to any entire team? Exactly how many football plays can be completely and totally unique to your system?
Nice to not let coaching egos get in the way of winning.
Yesterday - The Arizona football Program invited select faculty and staff to spend the day in the life with the football team. My wife was able to bring me along.
It started by eating breakfast with the team / staff in the football cafeteria. (really nice!). Then we got got to attend the team meeting followed by going to the position meeting of our choice. (I chose Receiver meeting... got to meet T-Mac but more special to me... got to talk to one of my all time favorite Cats- Bobby Wade. (Playing for Cats and Chicago Bears makes him along with Lance Briggs my favs). Next we got to spend about a half hour with Coach Brennan and his Chief of Staff... them talking and then opening up for a q and a. Conversation of course did move to portal / NIL talk. The most interesting thing the Chief of Staff said... and did not shy away from ... many players during the last few months have been regularly getting calls during team meetings coming from Seattle area codes.... it was obvious they have no love for our former coaching staff.
Coach Brennan seems like a really honest and good dude.
After the meeting the team went on to practice / drills and scrimmage and we were able to hang on the field for this. At one point we were approached by Ricky Hundley as he stopped to shake our hands to introduce himself. (no introduction needed!). But he was the coolest guy ever!
We know the coaching staff has no love for the old staff but any indication about the players feelings for the old staff? I guess we will find out if they go I guess but what a POS those guys are/were

Also to add to my story about tampering from Seattle- and this is directly from the Chief of Staff- this was taking place in the closed portal period... and yes is tampering... but there are no current ramifications for it... nothing can be done... its the wild wild west

Very cool. Brennan sounds like a stand-up guy who the players will like. Btw, did Brennan say they would be active in the portal?

So, the real reason for this opportunity for faculty and staff to be invited to this was to show them this other world these student athletes live and talk about resources faculty can reach out to if they see student athletes struggling, etc. I was one of the few people coming to this from a fan's perspective! Most of the talk was about the educational side... and the many, many changes and challenges the University of Arizona is in right now. (Both within athletics and out)
With that Coach did talk about the state of college football right now where recruiting now is even more of a year round 24 hour a day job... both recruiting from outside the program and trying to re-recruit current students every year (due to Portal / NIL)
Really glad you got a chance to experience that. Up until now, I've been a little ambivalent about Fisch pulling some of the players he recruited to Seattle, as "all's fair in love, war, and football." But now it's clearly inappropriate tampering/poaching. Living in LA County, I've been looking forward to the LA schools and their road trips to Ohio St, Michigan, Penn St, etc. Kind of like watching Duke hoops only when then play a really tough ACC road game so they can complain about the post-game celebration. Now I for sure include Washington in that bunch, and might as well throw Oregon in, too. Screw 'em all.
If there's any justice we'll play Washington in a bowl game and embarrass the fuck out of them.

One of our 2nd team defensive tackles is listed at 245lbs on the roster........with the defections we are reverting to RRod OKG sized lineman
Curious to see how this plays out once the roster is complete. Seems like any analysis of position strengths is premature at this point.
