Re: 2024 Transfer Portal
Similar to Keith Smith, but back then Smith had to pay back his signing bonus. In retrospect, Smith probably should have stuck with baseball although he was a fantastic QB for Arizona.

So, could someone like Nico Manion return to college sports and finish out his eligibility?

Re: 2024 Transfer Portal
Eligibility clock starts when you first enroll at college, so a one and done would not be able to come back.Postmaster wrote: ↑Wed May 08, 2024 10:19 pm So, could someone like Nico Manion return to college sports and finish out his eligibility?
JR Smith was straight out of High School and was able to come back on a golf scholarship (not like he needs it).

Re: 2024 Transfer Portal
Via Locked on Wildcats, Elijhah Badger is going to make his decision on Friday on where he will play. The fact that he didn't commit to Florida during his visit is a good sign.

Who is this running back from Arkansas we have?

Re: 2024 Transfer Portal
Would have been nice. Good luck having Graham Mertz throw to you and that brutal schedule next year.
Re: 2024 Transfer Portal
When do we hear about Badger's decision? Personally I have mixed feelings about him coming here.

He would be a nice get, but not needed.
Re: 2024 Transfer Portal
It is Friday and I thought we knew he was going to Florida already

Re: 2024 Transfer Portal
There’s a secret LB in town.
Good pull.
There’s also a Stanford Rush End and a good CB from Miami on the D side.

This makes me happy. Now have these kids committed or they're here just checking the place out and not committed anywhere?

Re: 2024 Transfer Portal
As Chief has told us, long snappers aren't worth a scholarship. Especially a backup one.

Re: 2024 Transfer Portal
In Chief's defense, from my understanding a lot of programs don't give scholarships to long snappers. A guy I work with's son was an Army All American long snapper in HS. Had everyone wanting him (Bama, Georgia, etc,) but none of them wanted to part with a scholarship for a long snapper. He did end up with a scholly at Oregon where he ended up playing, so it does happen, but it's not a given.
I would also think a big program like Bama, Georgia, etc would be MORE inclined to give a stud long snapper a scholly since the rest of the roster is filled with 4*'s down to 3rd string. To my non-football coach brain, I would think having this many studs at all your other positions and NOT getting a stud long snapper bc you can't spare a scholly is asking for trouble, especially when the margins for error to the CFP are so slim. I guess there may be enough good snappers that want to play at those schools even without a scholly though - I don't remember any bad snaps costing them games but I don't see most games either.

Like I said in the Fuck ASU thread, gotta just give these guys a chance without jumping down their throats immediately. Say goodbye to dancing cactus gifs.

Re: 2024 Transfer Portal
This a a really important commit. He is exactly what we need at RB. And recruiting isn't over yet. We need a starting CB and the starting lineup is complete. The rest will be depth. Arizona is really underrated right now. This is going to be a fun season. Just no major injuries please.

Re: 2024 Transfer Portal
I guess the gap is now widening in football with ASU. Well, actually every sport, and education as well. Come to think of it, they are an embarrassment to the state of Arizona.

Re: 2024 Transfer Portal
Good video on what we are getting. Of course, this is high school. But still, he was considered one of the best rated backs in the country. Why would Ole Miss let him go? I don't get it. Something doesn't smell right. Hopefully, it is a relationship problem. Anyway here is a video from high school (no sound).

Is that the sound you make when you’re kicked in the balls by Arizona Football doing something positive?
Ice ‘em down chief.

Re: 2024 Transfer Portal
That took his commitment over the weekend and let him have his own day to announce.
Classy.
Classy.
Re: 2024 Transfer Portal
The preferred method in CFB is PWO offer to scholly if they pan out. Transferring long snappers is wild and pioneering in the vacant transfer space we are navigating.mofo wrote: ↑Sun May 19, 2024 6:06 pmIn Chief's defense, from my understanding a lot of programs don't give scholarships to long snappers. Huh? Be in what know? The know he admitted he didn’t know? We were talking long snappers. You must be talking about the new RB transfer that Kiffin doo’d doo’d on. Careful with that Wildcat Pooper Scooper.ProfessorFate wrote: ↑Wed May 22, 2024 6:12 pmFollow Scheer so you can be in the know for a change.
Re: 2024 Transfer Portal
It’s the sound of a long snapper from Arizona transferring to Colorado when he claimed he was going pro and than decided to cash in on NiL. Keep up Shy!
