My favorite, the 3 trick plays that defeated Oklahoma.

That game was the epitome of leaving everything out there. Boise State was going to do anything they had to do to try to win that game.

Holy shit you are a whippersnapper.

I was at both of the above games.

1994 - Hung over on NYD, walked up and got lower-bowl tickets from a scalper for $10. It was widely anticipated that #1 Notre Dame was going to be playing in the Fiesta Bowl and so there was an early run on tickets, then ND spit the bit and lost a late-season game, leaving a glut of tickets. 1st half was glorious, 2nd half was actually kind of a boring punt-fest, due to the hangover all I can remember is wanting the damn thing to end.

2007 - Went to the game for free w/ a buddy that had connections. Left after the OU pick-6. D'oh.

Anyone know what Anu's status is? Was he yanked in the CCG because he was injured or because he wasn't playing well?

And what do you guys think his status will be for the bowl game?

He wasn't effective because of the injury, so there was no point in keeping him in. Given three weeks until the bowl, I think he'd be a go.

The Idaho Statesman's Arizona primer for the Boise fanbase. Not bad. Anything that educates these folks about the Cats is okay by me. Because Jake Plummer and Taylor Kelly are from these parts, there's definitely an assu bias to their familiarity with the Arizona schools.

I think if we hear that we sold out our alottment that this will signal a big UofA crowd as most of the people I know are buying up tickets in the secondary markets. That market has seen an uptick in prices marking an uptick in demand

I didn't say it isn't important, the Rose Bowl just doesn't automatically host the P12 champ . Winning the Rose Bowl w/o winning the P12 would be cool but not completely fulfilling and it would be held over our head until we fully complete the task. Just a fact.

Bleacher Report with bold predictions for the Fiesta Bowl.
The Wildcats have been extremely good at pressuring opposing quarterbacks and forcing costly mistakes this season. They rank 21st in the league with 37 sacks through 13 games, an average of 2.85 sacks per contest. That's not good news for a Boise State team that's given up 27 sacks in 13 games.
Amazing to me that in December part of our national identity was one of our biggest concerns in August. Hats off again to the coaching staff and the men of Arizona football.

If the Fiesta Bowl policy has the same roof policy decision makers as the Cardinals and D-Backs, the roof will only be open if the temp is between 74.5 - 76 degrees. And if there's one cloud in the far away distance they'll close it immediately.

The roof hasn't ever been opened for a Fiesta Bowl. If it was though, the sun would directly be on Az's side. Having been to a Card's game in late December when it was opened, I am not a fan. You have shaded areas that makes it hard to see the field and if in the upper areas, the sun would be in your eyes for the first half.

I think the Cardinals have figured out that the home field noise advantage when the roof is closed is so great that they never open it - I can't remember the last time it was open despite some gorgeous game days.

Will be curious to see how they handle it when that consideration isn't a factor.

The Chicago Tribune picked Boise because of their past success in the Fiesta Bowl.

Red and Grey are the easier spots to get out of; Grey and North P/limo Red have priority lanes to get out.
Green is close but more traffic and mostly a pain.
Orange is setup to be next to the party but it is also a pain to get out of.
Purple and Blue can be easy to get out of if you walk faster then other people or stay at a post game bar/resturant.
Yellow and Brown have shuttles to get to but they are a hike.

I have parked in many areas of the stadium. Only the Green Lot has been a major problem.

Night games are tough no matter where you park.

Park as close to the exit of of the lot you are in and you should be fine.

Boise State football ready for Arizona's Solomon

http://www.idahostatesman.com/2014/12/2 ... /104/&rh=1
He's got a record like Kellen Moore and moves like Johnny Manziel. And now the Boise State football teams gets to deal with him.

Arizona redshirt freshman quarterback Anu Solomon is 67-6 in his five years as a starter at the high school and college levels.

He won four straight state championships at Bishop Gorman High in Las Vegas - starting the program's run that has reached six. He won the Pac-12 South in his first college season and will lead the Wildcats in the Fiesta Bowl on Dec. 31 against Boise State.

"He's kind of like Johnny (Manziel) - he keeps a lot of plays alive with his legs," said Boise State defensive coordinator Marcel Yates, who was an assistant at Texas A&M during Manziel's two-year run as a starter there.

Solomon was one of the nation's prized recruits when he chose Arizona. He redshirted last year and won the job this fall.

He sparked the Wildcats to a 5-0 start, including a win at Oregon, with 14 TD passes against four interceptions and two games in which he threw for at least 400 yards and four touchdowns.

"Anu's played really well," receiver Cayleb Jones said. "The load he's had to take on - people don't really realize how much goes into playing quarterback."

Solomon's weakness is efficiency. He completes 58 percent of his passes and has a rating of 132.51, which ranks 57th in the nation. He struggled with a leg injury the last month of the regular season that forced him to exit the Pac-12 title game at halftime.

But his dual-threat ability compensates for some missed throws.

"For a redshirt freshman, he has had a lot of success," Arizona coach Rich Rodriguez said.

Solomon has thrown for 266 yards a game and 27 TDs this year. He also is the Wildcats' third-leading rusher with 259 yards. He has 482 gross yards but the Wildcats have allowed 32 sacks, which has slashed his rushing stats.

"Just his improv when things break down," Jones said of what impresses him. "Him being able to maneuver in the pocket and make a play whether it is running or passing."

Solomon credits his dad, who played linebacker at San Jose State, for his improvisational talent. "That's something my dad worked on," Solomon said, "making sure that I keep plays alive and making sure I can do my best to make a team have a success that it's never had."
