What's amazing too is that they were done in regulation.

I'm skeptical. This offense is just gearing up. When Anu is a soph/junior/senior, it might get ugly for the opposition.azgreg wrote:Some of those are going to be around for a while.
I doubt the 36 in the 4th falls, though.

Any good replacement WRs coming in?

Single-game pass attempts - 73 (Cal)

Re: 2014 Wildcat Record Collection
One more record to add after the Oregon game.
From the ESPN blog
From the ESPN blog
Fresh off their 24-17 win at previous No. 2 Oregon last Thursday, the Wildcats became the first team since the poll went to 25 teams in 1989 to move from unranked to the Top 10. Arizona (5-0) is one of 10 undefeated teams left in the country and was ranked as high as No. 2 in the nation on one ballot (by ESPN's Brett McMurphy).

Re: 2014 Wildcat Record Collection
All good except that it was a 31-24 win. I guess ESPN is not counting the last TD since the un-sportsman-like penalty was a bogus call!ANGCatFan wrote:One more record to add after the Oregon game.

Tucson good.
Re: 2014 Wildcat Record Collection
Besides updating Anu's Freshman passing records, Scooby Wright was added to the record list after Wash St. Scooby tied the Arizona record for most forced fumbles in a season at 5. I couldn't find a listing in the Arizona media guide for the most forced fumbles in a game, so I am assuming he nows own the Arizona record with 3 against the Cougs.
Re: 2014 Wildcat Record Collection
A couple of interesting new records for the Wildcats following the Utah win.
Re: 2014 Wildcat Record Collection
Update after smashing the sporks.
PAC-12 South champs and 14+ game are huge accomplishments, but my favorite record is Micky Baucus with his 50th consecutive start at left tackle. Arizona doesn't track this record, but have acknowledged it is the most consecutive starts ever by a Wildcat Football player. Way to Bear Down Micky!

It is amazing, and I think Fabbians got his 49th start as well. (not sure if consecutive).ANGCatFan wrote:Update after smashing the sporks.

Like Brooks' dad (tucsonpaint), Mr. Bauk used to post at TOS and posts now at Scout Premium. A great guy who gave us two great Wildcats! (too bad Jack's playing career was cut short).
Go get 'em in the NFL Mickey and Fabbians!

Of the 12 coaches, Rush picked the one whose fans have the deepest passion, the longest memories, the greatest lung capacity and … did I mention deep passion?

The OP has an updated list of all the records from this season.
I suspect Anu may also have the PAC 12 Freshman passing record, but I haven't been able to confirm it yet. He does not have the Freshman FBS record since some guy named Winston from FSU had over 4000 yards his Freshman year. I would have loved to have seen Anu with at least one more TD and a 2 pt conversion, but still one of the best seasons in Arizona history.
I will add any records I find as season recap articles come out and please let me know of any I have missed.

Re: 2014 Wildcat Record Collection
Very impressive for Anu, but not sure why they lump true freshmen and redshirt freshmen records together. It's one thing to have a year in the system, and an entirely different situation to come in with only fall and spring camp to learn the system.
Re: 2014 Wildcat Record Collection
I actually think the most impressive record is Mickey Baucus. He started every game for 4 years (after a redshirt year) with 3 bowl games and one PAC 12 Championship. To break Mickey's record someone will need to help take the Wildcats back to the PAC 12 Championship.

Hansen...

1. Anu Solomon was sacked eight times, which tied a school record. (Some record, huh?) He was sacked five times in the fourth quarter alone.
Not only that, Arizona snapped 31 plays in the fourth quarter, and Solomon either passed, ran or was sacked on 28 of them.
He was gassed in the final two minutes. Given his foot injury over the last six weeks, he wasn’t able to regain 100 percent conditioning.
Maybe if your quarterback is a healthy Russell Wilson or Marcus Mariota, you want 28 of your final 31 plays dominated by one player.
Arizona’s offense became as predictable as the sun rising in the east. On all of his four runs and five sacks in the quarter, Solomon was moving to his right, which allowed the Broncos to defend just half of the field.
