Last season power 5.

USC-good fans
Ohio State-good fans
Oklahoma-good fans
Georgia-good fans
Clemson-good fans

Weird how that worked out. And yes all have had good fans for many years even in down times
Maybe we will have good fans someday when we have accomplished a sliver of what those teams have.

With no reason to believe championship level football is even possible here, the fans are always expecting disappointment.
Fair weather. Got it

The only “good” fans that exist (meaning they show up in lean times) are fans of programs that have built up enough equity by being consistent winners over the years that the fans can feel confident that the losing is a momentary blip. Showing up for a winning team is easy. The only fanbase I can think of who reliably showed up for mediocrity through the years was the Chicago Cubs.

4th and 1 on the south end but no fans. But we have to earn it per the fans on this board so ..............
You're damn right they have to earn it. It's college football, not charity.
College not the NFL. Fair weather fans don't win conference titles
If they're vying for my money and time, yes, they need to earn it.

Imagine if you went to see a mediocre local band fairly consistently and they never really got much better so you quit going to their shows and then some dillhole said to you, “fair weather fans don’t win Grammy’s”.

How hard would you laugh in his face?

Arizona football has no sole football conference championships since the early 1940's Border Conference. 0-WAC, 0-PAC.

Which of course means no Rose Bowl appearances.

Ditto for restaurants, or any other place that doesn't deliver value for money (and time).

Yeah I'm not going to go to a restaurant over and over again if every time I go it is disappointing

Curves Caberet off Oracle consistently put forth mediocre talent in college but I kept going supporting the cause because I am a true fan. Never wavered

That sort of exemplifies how I feel about Arizona football right now. We have the sort of program where random fans can wander onto the sideline, use the team bike and no one notices or cares.

Especially when Sumlin won't let injured players sit with the team during games.

Because we weren't filling it as a bowl team last year and now we're a team that gets face pounded by any half decent team we face. Too bad we can't play D2 teams, Cal and Oregon State all the time.

Then maintain your vigil alone in two weeks. I wouldn't kill four hours out of my weekend for sh*tshows like tonight's to save MY life, let alone yours.

Funny thing is that I would sound like you in college. Back then, though, the product WAS better than going out drinking. Hell, '93 through '98 will be remembered as Arizona football's Golden Age.

Now? We're a junkie who hit bottom and can't face it. And you are not helping the problem one iota.

You are only a fair weather fan if you don't email Heeke and complain about the dismal showing of our prutrid football team. The play calling is atrocious and allowing a prima Donna to dictate the style of play is flat out embarrassing

Sumlin recruiting has been embarrassing as well. Tell me one thing that excites you about our team and immediate future. As an alum I owe the School nothing monetarily. I paid for my books

Where is all the complaining for the basketball game times? At UCLA 8pm, at Cal 8:30pm , at Stanford 9pm and especially at home, when the game will end after every football home game has ended in all likelihood, home vs Baylor at 9pm

You do realize that basketball games are only 2 hours, while football games go 3.5 hours don't you?

A little over 2, usually 2:10 to 2:15 but yes I totally do

But the games (football) on PAC-12 network have averaged just over 3 hours and that was the only 8pm kickoff so the Baylor game will end after that game ended (Southern Utah Football). But no complains from Tucson and other Arizona fans, weird right

Not weird at all. You're also comparing Southern Utah football to Baylor Basketball; which as Merkin also alluded to is 2 hours vs. 3.5 hours and will not take half your day (if you tailgating). This is just silly at this point.
