That TD pass to the tight end was a thing of beauty. What poise for a dual threat QB to throw it when he had that much running room.

Khalil Tate has been named #Pac12FB Offensive Player of the Week for the third week in a row!
Tate is the first student-athlete to win three-consecutive Player of the Week honors since Rodney Peete of USC in 1988.

Peete of course is a Tucson kid. Tomey thought he had him locked up, think Peete's dad was a UA track coach or something, but USC tried harder.

A little bit off there Merk. It was Larry Smith, and his dad was an assistant football coach. Rodney did not even go to Sahuaro his senior year. His dad got a job with the Chiefs and they moved to Kansas City.

Larry Smith got to have him two years anyways when he bailed to U$C.

Haha one has to think the PAC hype machine has something to do with this third week in a row pick. Not like he had a bad game but still, doesn't hurt to have the conference in he national headlines for what one of its players are doing.

Honest question: Did anyone have a game elsewhere that had an argument/might've gotten snubbed?

Not sure to be honest. Certainly you would look at the winning schools to find a candidate. Not sure what anyone on ASSU, Wazzu or UCLA did but in any event I am sure 3 in a row is getting some national attention. Don't get me wrong, I love it

Advertising is a funny thing. And other conferences have it figured out more than us (or even way more figured out).

That's EXACTLY what I was talking about with the "way more than us." SEC scheduling.

Falk went 17/34 197 yards with 3 tds
Rosen went 21/36 266 yards with 2 tds
ASSu won with defense.
So Tate's 10/15 166 yards with 2 td's and 1 int with 17 carries for 137 yards and a td was the clear choice.

A QB not named Darnold, Rosen, Falk or Browning could be first-team all conference.

Amazing.

All for Tate stepping out of bounds more often on a few of his runs. Takes about 2-3 hard hits a game that aren't really needed near the end of some runs where he starts to go down where it's a being tackled situation. That's something to learn and get a feel for. Remember watching recruiting videos of him and he was pulling just crazy crazy stuff in high school games, head shaking plays, made we wonder if any of that could ever translate into a power 5 football game. And it has, Tate is sick. Stay healthy my friend.

The PAC has a hype machine? They should take some lf that machinery and devote it to getting P12 on a few more cable carriers.

Anyone have the name of the CU player that banged into Dawkins out of bounds?

I dont have the game on dvr anymore but I am 90% sure it was the same guy who knocked Dawkins out who hit Tate late later in the game.

Gotta love the conclusion:

USC defensive lineman Oluwole Betiku was in Tate's class at Serra.

"I've seen it before, so I'm not impressed," Betiku said. "I saw him do it all through high school, so I'm just seeing Tate be Tate. They finally gave him the ball, and he's doing what Tate does."

Peete of course is a Tucson kid. Tomey thought he had him locked up, think Peete's dad was a UA track coach or something, but USC tried harder.
When Rodney visited Tucson on his official recruiting trip he was picked up by Larry Smith. When he visited SC he was picked up by Marcus Allen and OJ Simpson in a stretch limo.

I played (er . . . dressed for) one year of freshman football at Salpointe in 1980. Rodney Pete ran roughshod over us his freshman year at Sahuaro.

7/11 for 182 yards and 2 td's with 8 carries for 92 yards is a pretty good half.
