Stepping on this rake and having the handle smash the ever-lovin’ shit out of my nuts sure is painful but I’d like to announce that I plan on stepping on that same fucking rake a number of times next Fall as well.

Has anyone emailed Heeke regarding the coaching situation? I wonder if he would reply and explain his plan.

I imagine his public email address is opened by interns who do not forward such emails on to Heeke's real email.

It has to be player development and recruiting I would assume

He's already proven that over and over again

Somehow Missouri, USF and others have decided that firing their poorly performing coaches was a viable move despite the supposed lack of candidates.

Not only was Tate partially responsible for the UA not getting Ken N, apparently he was also instrumental in having Sumlin keep the worst DC in UA history. No idea how Tate even knew Yates all that well.

Unless the AD implements a policy that no one can use social media, what was Heeke supposed to do with Tate and twitter?

Heeke is not good and Larry Scott is the absolute worst, but blaming them for things that are not their fault do not help.

Also, TATE HAD ZERO TO DO WITH THE HIRING OF SUMLIN OVER KEN N. Tate thinks he does but he had zero to do with it. Ken N was a smoke screen to get more money from boosters. And it was the start of Scheer getting bad info from his sources. This is not an attack on Scheer but he has been off on multiple things recently. There are people on twitter who have access to Heeke. Those are other sources to follow to piece together the true story.

Still wish we would have hired Niumatalolo over Slumlin. He wouldn't have used the Triple option here and would have adapted. He would have also been better in utilizing Tate's running ability (or the ability he used to have - that he through away). If we could get rid of Slumlin today, and we should, I would go after him again.

Same here. The academies don't get too many elite athletes, and when you have very successful seasons doing so, you know they have a good possibly great coach. Watched Navy play Houston before he UA game. Navy really did a great job trying to make Houston guess quite a bit on defense, and many times guessed wrong.

If the Cats could get him, would try and get Joiner back in the QB fold. What a superb athlete. But I imagine they would have good use for Gunnell's arm, and smarts.

Ohhh a smoke screen! Super secret squirrel double probation.

Heeke sucks at his job, what BJBJ said.

AD even more of a puss if he can’t tell a player to pound sand and negotiate with his boss about why a player meeting for a coaching hire is a bad idea.

But he’s not afraid to pound the bb program like a scared little boy at the thought of NCAA coming down, rather then protect the crown jewel like real ADs at top BB schools do.

God he sucks sooooo bad.

In terms of Sumlin's future, I seriously wonder if next year might set a record for fan apathy entering the season. We have a poorly rated recruiting class and the returners don't exactly inspire hope.

We've been worse, but I'm not sure we've ever been more irrelevant. It feels like gearing up for an exhibition season to tick off a year until firing Sumlin is more financially viable. Is anyone excited?

I think we all have the same thought. Announced attendance for the UA's last 2 home games were less than 37,000, with actual scanned tickets 10,000 less at least for Utah.

Lowest announced attendance last season was still over 40,000 and that was against Southern Utah.

Nope. Even in like 2004-2006 we still had good defenses and players fans followed. The only other period that probably had the similar level of apathy anytime in the last 50 years was like after the 2002 season.

I won't be surprised if attendance next year averages like 30k, and that's with the artificial inflation all athletic departments do

Good time to tear down the west side of the stadium... Will still only fill half what is left...

Can we afford to wait a year or two for Slumlin to turn things around - and still have a $5 million buyout? ...NOT... Just need to cut our losses now and move on.

About my guess too.

This year was the first one where I didn't turn on Sling TV until mid way through the season. Might not do it at all next season until the Red Blue game.

Costs the UA AD $300,000 to put on a football game at Arizona stadium.

Remember how pissed Lute was when he had to support the Mackovic era football program with basketball funds? Miller isn't going to be pleased either. UA BB has supported the non BB and FB sports for quite some time.

What defensive coordinator is going to come here with Sumlin as a lame duck?

My guess is Sumlin is somehow guaranteed 2 more years to help attract a coordinator

The end of Arizona football is near

We're on the precipice of being Kansas or Rutgers or like 1980s Oregon State

Maybe Heeke wants to turn UA football program into a mercenary one where teams will pay UA to come and get beat down.

Looking at the CMU football schedule which was probably set up when Heeke was there, they traveled to Miami and Wisconsin, where Wisky beat them down pretty good but they did give Miami a good game.

Other than that, Central Michigan also has Eastern Michigan and Western Michigan on the schedule, along with teams like Bowling Green, Toledo, Albany and so on.

Why was Heeke ever hired?

They must have thought he was some sort of shining star.

We've been worse, but I'm not sure we've ever been more irrelevant. It feels like gearing up for an exhibition season to tick off a year until firing Sumlin is more financially viable. Is anyone excited?
Nope. Even in like 2004-2006 we still had good defenses and players fans followed. The only other period that probably had the similar level of apathy anytime in the last 50 years was like after the 2002 season.

I won't be surprised if attendance next year averages like 30k, and that's with the artificial inflation all athletic departments do
I thought about the 02 era. I wonder if it isn't worse now because people aren't even mad any more. I think people.were frustrated with Mackovic. With Sumlin, they just don't care any more.
