I have always felt JUCO recruiting needs to be an important part of Arizona Football and nice to see us offer JUCO guys but honestly feel like JUCO 's who don't come in till the fall are tough as they never seem ready.

I have an interesting feeling this class is going to look very different when the smoke clears on signing day then it looked a month ago

I think you are right defensively. We got Walker, Parks, Tate and Neves in this semester and that in itself is 4 probable big time contributors to the program in the future.

We are not Bama but I like the emphasis RR is speaking to when he wants to get his best recruiters out on the road

Does Dudek hit the road to recruit or no! Gotta find a way to be able to get on the road to sell this program!

he can't as a recruiting coordinator but he can for the time being as we have two spots open so he can recruit like a coach can for the time being.

NCAA rules only allow for 9 assistant coaches. Non coaches are not allowed to recruit or evaluate.

Forgot the exact number, but only a few coaches can be out recruiting at the same time, with no more than 2 at the same site. Not that Casteel recruited, but if RichRod wanted to send someone to evaluate Khalil Tate it would be Rod Smith and one other.

The nine assistant coaches rule is why you rarely see a coach dedicated to only special teams in college. You have an offensive coordinator, a defensive coordinator, and then you have to divvy up all of the position coaching among the other seven. So if you have a QB coach, a running backs coach, a O-line coach, a WR coach, a D-line coach, a DB coach, and a LB coach, that's your nine assistants right there. Guys will have to take on double duty at some spots. Casteel was coaching the LBs. So you have Ragle splitting his time between the TEs and special teams. Arizona's kick coverage wasn't stellar last year but the kicking itself was solid. Skowron was dependable - not the best kicker Arizona has ever had but he was still pretty good - and Riggleman was a damn good punter. With the openings for DC and DL coaches I wouldn't be surprised to see a re-organization of the staff once the new guys are in place.

Interesting to note that Smith and Magee are co-OCs. Smith coaches the QBs and Magee coaches the RBs, and given the run/pass option that Arizona has on most of their plays I can see why they work together. I'd be curious to see just how much RR calls the plays and how much he delegates to Smith and Magee in game. I also wonder how they team up on the recruiting because if there's two positions that Arizona recruits well these days it's QB and RB.

The Athletic Department has folks reviewing the message boards. They talk to the coaching staff. They try to stay in tuned with what is being said about the program.

I imagine the UA AD keeps a pretty close eye on PointguardU due to avoid any possible recruiting violations, although more so with basketball than football.

Great kid and fierce competitor. Not looking to start a brawl Bug, but it wouldn't shock me to see Modster get the nod over Rosen down the road if he commits to the Bruins. Parents of kids at MD & O. Lutheran have said to me that Rosen was blessed back in HS to have a world class line to protect him.

That's not going to happen.

That OL statement was true when Rosen was a junior. It mysteriously carried over to his senior year

Looks like the recruiting dead period ended yesterday

December 14, 2015, through January 13, 2016: [applicable to all
prospective student-athletes (see Bylaw 13.02.5.5.2)]: Dead Period

and this starts again:

Six (6) in-person, off-campus contacts per prospective student-athlete
shall be permitted during this time period with not more than one
permitted in any one calendar week (Sunday through Saturday) or partial
calendar week

When they can actually get guys to visit then their chances go way up. It's tough to get the higher rated recruits to use one of their officials to come check out Arizona.
