I think Fafita is going to be great. Yes he is small but I have not seen any WB this year throw into the windows like he does. That is very important in this offense.

AJ Jones is really athletic and is slotted to play WR. He has had to play QB most of this year for his team and he can really run and is 6’3”. We may miss on TMac but this guy is very good.

Agree that we need safety help and fast and we can use another O Line guy

My concern with Fafita is his weapons have always been way better than the opposing teams and the majority and nearly every highlight he is throwing either from in front of the pocket or on a roll out (which is not something we have seen under Fisch) and those windows get tighter and those defenders come quicker.

We have what 3 OL recruits now? I would like to add at minimum two more and ideally 4 more.

No doubt we will have to move the pocket more, much like Seattle does at times with Wilson.

And yes we MUST upgrade that offensive line. We have to be able to run it for the play action to work. I think we now have 3 guys and I am hoping for one more HS kid then grab a couple of transfer guys

Could someone translate what the heck Fisch is saying below? Is he just rambling nonsense to make it sound like he has some idea about the offensive line only to sound like a moron? I think ignoring the incorrect facts (Morgan has two years for instance) and contradictions he is saying we are planning to add good number of OL.

“We will have to look at O-line in terms of depth where we’re building that up. Everyone is back, but then no one is back. The freshman are back of course, both JT (Hand) and Josh Baker, but you have Jordan (Morgan), Paiton (Fears), Josh McCauley. Two of those guys that have one year left and Josh moving on. We have to add to that room." - Fisch

Yep that was confusing but my guess is that unless a kid is really, really good CJF just wants to move them along. Get his own guys in here. Of course I am just guessing.

As shallow as the talent pool is at OLine, have you looked at safety and at LB? That back end of the defense is terrible

I would like to see CRW moved to safety, he brings the pain when he tackles but struggles a bit on covering good WR's. I think he could be an all Pac 12 caliber S. LB we have Hodge who I like coming back and Jerry Roberts. Also have Reed and hopefully Lane and Martin can contribute early. Talent is pretty low everywhere, in addition to recruiting we are really going to need to have a real plan to improve the guys coming back. We definitely need to find some guys on that defense who can make things happen.

Not a bad thought If Rutherford can stay healthy with Stukes on the other side.

I wonder if CY would then man the other safety (SS) spot. That seems to me to be the most talented back end we could put out there

Not even sure who plays the mike backer. Roberts was doing it in a pinch but think he is better at the Sam. Martin I have heard might move to the DLine and Lane is also playing DEnd. I think we need to hit the portal at that spot

If I was Fisch, I would have stacks of blank transfer requests sitting everywhere. Probably be the first coach to get in trouble with a slush fund to buy shitty players out of their commitment.

So they have 16 commitments. They have been calling it the Tucson 20 so you think that is their goal leaving 3 for transfers and then they get 7more from their transfers from the portal.

I would have thought Nanson might have brought a guy or two and maybe he still will. I just want him to keep Lane(Cincy) and Chambers (TCU).

We still have a shot with TMac and Jason Taylors 4 star kid has a new coach at LSU and he was out for a game recently so who knows.

It seems that the kids on the O side are pretty locked in. Coleman will be in early as will AJ Jones (still a bit worried about Utah here) and he is a tall WR that we desperately need

If you look on the UofA roster it says Roland-Wallace is a sophomore. I believe he is coming back too if that's the case.

They are going by #TwentyTucson, meaning 22. Cheesy, but that's what they mean by the twenty.

Great pickup. He also had an offer from Oregon. These are the types of recruiting battles AZ needs to win to return to respectability.

Another USC commit, a 4 star cornerback, is also on campus visiting this weekend.

Our WR corp next year is going to be insane. Majon Wright, Green, AJ Jones, Burnett and I am betting on a big signing of a certain guy we all want. Couple that with Singer and Simpson and you can see why Casteel, Curry and Mitchell all entered the portal

Its hard to really rate our WRs this year with our mostly terrible QB play but what has he done to earn this title?

Well, I noticed while playing RAP this year that when he was healthy and playing, he seemed to get open and catch several passes and got a few TDs. He contributed more than I expected from a freshman.

He was in his 3rd year of playing (listed as a sophomore because of the free COVID season) this last season.

hmm, I don't remember him getting hurt this year but I could be wrong. Maybe with playing RAP you were paying more attention to him specifically than I was. I honestly can't remember anytime in his career where I remember saying "that was a great play" or "what a catch" when it comes to him so that is why I asked. Maybe I was expecting more given his rating coming out of HS but like azcat said, the lack of speed seemed to hurt him at the college level.

Here are his career stats (3years including the COVID season):

Rec Yds Avg TD
37 390 10.5 3

That was my take on Currie. Just sort of ho hum. Maybe it was just me and when I was paying attention but whenever I saw someone throwing a pass to Casteel I watched Casteel drop it.

That would be a huge steal and an upgrade over Chambers. This is Jedd's time to shine, off season warrior.
