UA would travel better than those teams to San Diego, so they could pick down and pick Arizona.

Either El Paso Gasso or Las Vegas are the most convenient two. I could combine El Paso with a trip I'm taking into Texas near the end of the year. Or, since I'll be in PHX that week, take the very easy flight up to Vegas. Holiday works too, though the media is betting heavy on Stanford.Merkin wrote:
When will Bowls be announcements start? Next week? Or after the Conference Championships?

The day after the conference title games. Will be the NY6 early in the day and then the rest of the bowls that evening.CatsbyAZ wrote:Either El Paso Gasso or Las Vegas are the most convenient two. While I would love to go to Vegas, I think Sun will be fine so that the team can spread the extra practice time out.

I'm fine with making another trip to El Paso this year. Four hours since I live on the east side close to I-10.

ESPN now has us in either in Vegas against Fresno State or in the Cactus Bowl in downtown Phoenix with Kansas State.

Re: College football Bowl projections
I believe we go to the Cactus bowl, and Oregon to the Las Vegas Bowl. If Tate is going to play I will probably go to Chase Field since it is only a few miles away. If he is not playing we are going to get clobbered by Iowa State. I think Kansas State is probably a better matchup.
Re: College football Bowl projections
I'd think we'd probably be outdrawn by KSU fans in the Cactus bowl. You know how bad those Arcadia area Phoenix fans are.
i was going to put the ua/asu records here...but i forgot what they were.

I like those projections. The Las Vegas Bowl will not allow the UA to get enough practice in (and Tate may still be hurt).Irish27 wrote:Here is another site's projections from today.

Unfortunately the UA is usually at the bottom of the Bowl Pecking Order. This projection has Oregon leapfrogging the UA into the Foster Farms Bowl. ChildSlaveLaborU does check all of the boxes that Bowl Committees covet: 1) A well heeled fan base that travels 2) Name Recognition, and 3) An entertaining offense.

Clemson, Oklahoma, Georgia, and Alabama in the playoffs.
Re: College football Bowl projections
I wonder if Washington will now move up? Looking like Vegas Bowl vs BSU. That would be ok, I want revenge for the Fiesta Bowl loss.

Utter garbage that Alabama is in. Wisconsin got penalized for winning there division. Alabama got rewarded for losing their division.

Re: College football Bowl projections
The playoff selection show is completely drawn out. I really don't want to listen to 1+ hours of analysis of the top 4 teams, milking it for as long as they can. It becomes boring. At least the coverage of March Madness doesn't mess around. 1/2 hour and we know the bracket. Then all the analysis comes afterwards.

USC not being in the top 6 makes me think TCU remains above Washington or Notre Dame jumps WashingtonIrish27 wrote:I wonder if Washington will now move up? Looking like Vegas Bowl vs BSU. That would be ok, I want revenge for the Fiesta Bowl loss.

Re: College football Bowl projections
The committee was dead wrong as usual. Surprising that some people think it was right. As sccats said in the other thread they barely had any quality wins at all and didn't even play for their conference championship and only played 8 conference games. Alabama would be ranked about 6th or 7th in my poll.

It SHOULD not be Vegas. I would not put it past Larry Scott to screw us and allow the Foster Farms Bowl (or the Sun) to dip down and pick Oregon over us leaving us in Vegas.Gilbertcat wrote:OK so it won't be Vegas

Re: College football Bowl projections
It all comes down to who the Holiday and Foster Farms bowls believe will travel better.
This is why attendance matters
That said asu probably doesn't travel well with the coaching situation and the fans reaction to it

Sun or egg bowl
Re: College football Bowl projections
Wrong and Wrong. The PAC12 bowls have the option of selecting teams +/- 1 loss of each other in the standings..........Oregon finished 4-5 and we finished 5-4, so they could be picked ahead of us.PHXCATS wrote:There are rules against it and Larry Scott has no say it itdmjcat wrote:It SHOULD not be Vegas. Holiday Alamo and Foster Farms can so that. Sun and beyond you cant. And it is all the bowls. Larry has nothing to do with it
