Makes sense, now that we have a history of producing a Superbowl MVP Quarterback!!! I can't believe I can say that. :P

Same here, esp when no UA QB ever took a NFL snap during the PAC-10 era, and only Foles in the PAC-12 era.

We're still thin at the QB spot currently. IF Dawkins decided to leave where does that leave us? Good to see the coaching staff is of the same opinion.

I think we just offered a 2019 or later kid from the same high school as this QB a couple days ago

Exciting to think what our 2019 class might look like. One could assume it might be the highest rated class we have ever signed

Looking at their twitter, looks like it is TJ Pesefea 6-3 261 DT. Has Sac State and Wazzu offers. Don't think this will be honored just judging from spots left and new offers. Sucks for the kid, but that's the way these things go.

Did he not sign earlier because he "wanted to keep his options open"? A life lesson for the kid: opportunities come in the form of windows. Best to jump through them when they are open.

Defensive coach is still the defensive coach, so... Sucks...one of the pitfalls of waiting to long. Everyone is replaceable

I think the ones left on our commit list are pretty definite so no surprises there. I know coach Sumlin has made some offers and even tried to flip a few kids that are committed elsewhere but there's no real news on that. I think everyone is just waiting to see.

Addae got Coleman as a silent commit in December. Only a handful of people knew that but some are trying to play they knew it the whole time.

As a recruit, what is the point of doing that? Then other schools get in trouble recruiting you.

1. Possibly to not be harassed by locals and others about their school choice. Once they sign, its a short time till they're out of town.
2. Waiting for their 18th birthday so parental interference isn't a factor.
3. Awaiting an offer from Alabama and the recruit doesn't want Alabama to get the idea they're committed if they want to offer at the last minute.

I understand #1...

But if they already SIGNED as reported and just did not announce, I don't see how 2 or 3 can apply.

Bug is right, parents need to sign unless a player is 21.

4. Enjoy the recruiting process

According to Scheer's tweet there were 2 other secret signings from early period that were never announced.

Not sure what they are waiting for.

They were already committed. I wouldn't count that a secret.
To me, this says Kevin Doyle and one more. I don't think Jeremiah Martin was ever going here, so I don't think he meant him.

One is definitely Doyle, but have no clue who the other surprise would be, although I did hear or a possible JUCO lineman with a checkered past not too long ago. I don't know if the football program could afford taking that risk though.

I would agree... but it adds to Twitter drama and gives the appearance of having info worth paying for to conflate the Coleman situation with the other 2.

If a kid is committed publicly, all I care about is that he sticks... and when he actually signs is not all that interesting. And damn sure not worth paying for.

He's probably our #2 QB next year honestly. That's not to say he'll be amazing, but we're just lacking so much at that position behind Tate.

He coached at Poly so landing 2 kids from that school is not surprising and he knew Robertson personally. There's more schools in LA than Poly and outside of Poly his well will dry real quick. Fuck Antonio Pierce.

The lineman has a headache associated with him and most schools didn't want to deal with it. ASU said bring it on. Good luck.
