It's most likely they just don't know what they're talking about, but theoretically they could be talking about the PAC 12 North? And just left the North out? It's a stretch, but...

The Pac-12 South is far deeper than not only the North this year, but most other power conference divisions in the country. Too many football "experts" don't have the first clue about that.
