Pac 12 Arizona had it on at 11. I guess the national feed aired it later.

I didn't tune in until 11:30 and was too young to remember the game, so I didn't even know the pick 6 was about to happen. When it did I did I just started laughing. It was even better when they showed the reactions of the ASU players and cheerleaders. :D Between that and ASU deciding to try a touchdown instead of keeping the field goal, we really made them look like complete idiots.

I was in the stadium that day and I had a perfect view of the whole thing! I'll never forget it. :D

I was watching the game at home; oh I wanted to go so badly but 14 year old me didn't have the money for the tickets. When Cecil was running back the pick we were all yelling so loud that mom came in wondering what the hell was going on. Jumping up and down, yelling "Go! Go! Go!" and making a hell of a ruckus. Lundquist handled that perfectly with just the simple "This is Chuck Cecil." He knew what kind of moment he was seeing.

Thank goodness I finally got Dish, I was able to DVR it. It was great to watch this special as I was too young at the time to remember the game. Crazy how Arizona dominated for the entire decade. I just hope that RR watched it when they talked about Larry Smith's view, "you gotta win the state" and how that was the mindset. I know we want more for this program but that is where it all starts.

I wish there would have been current interviews with Chuck Cecil and Ricky Hundley though. God, I hate AssU.

"This trophy is nice (PAC) while this trophy is better (NC) but neither one of those means anything if you don't win this one (Territorial Cup)"

Unfortunately it was not RR who Said this

Same here - in Section 1, Cecil scored right in front of us.
I think that's the loudest I ever heard Arizona Stadium.

Almost got into a fight with some Scummie frat boys in the north endzone. My buddy took a billy club to the head when he made a move for the goal post. Good times.

Well when they kick our ass again don't complain scumdevils86 because just like Larry Smith had an attitude about that game and dominated so does Brittney Graham

That's what that ASU team said, especially after it beat Michigan in the Rose Bowl.

A year later, first-year head coach Dick Tomey tied outgoing coach John Cooper on a punter brain fart and the NCAA was reviewing information about rampant steroid abuse among that same Rose Bowl team's offensive line.

You gotta win the state FIRST. Larry Smith was dead-on and was about to take that next step before he made the mistake of his career.

Missed this game replay. Have never re-watched it. I NEED to.
One of the best sports memories in my life. Decided to sit with ASU friends from Phx in the old north end zone bleachers. GREAT day! Great day game!

So many good things happened on that side of the field that day. Goal line fumble recovery, Jenkins bomb to Hill (heading other way from deep our side of field), DeBow's 4th down goal line stop and of course Cecil running toward us on his 106yd INT.

Magical stuff.

If we won the Pac12 and the NC but lost to AssU, it would be cool but kinda hollow since they would always be able to say, "yeah, but we still beat you." Especially since I live among the scum devils in Phoenix. With the tiebreak rules how they are and the parody between the two programs, the trip to Levi Stadium will most likely require a win against AssU. So, I definitely agree with the "WIN THE STATE" mantra. :geek:

Me too. I NEED to see this. I remember watching it as a 17 year old on tv. I'm 45 now and I need to watch the whole thing again.

Anyone know if they put it up on Youtube? Grrrrr I could've had this on my DVR.

I was in the upper deck and after Cecil's touchdown two girls started slugging it out(mostly pulling hair). One was an asu fan and the other a Cats fan. It lasted a good few minutes until broken up. I watched the fans storm the field and then watched them get wet when the sprinklers went on. There were so many asu fans wearing their Rose Bowl shirts and many of them were leaving after Chuck's interception.

They need to show that the night before we play ASSU this year. Man I love how Larry Smith hated the devils and I love how David Adams said he made no bones about. One of there top 5 goals every year was you must win the state on the field. Don't just say, DO.

Year before, Van Raapborst was sacked, fumbled. We kicked the field goal to win. For the Cecil pick, I was in that end zone. The DeBow play was on the opposite end. Didn't realize how great that was till replay. After the game, they turned on sprinklers to clear the field.

Still my favorite game.
