The problem is 8 players from the UCLA defense were on 1st & 2nd team. In total we had 2 total players that were 1st and 2nd team offense and defense. How are we even in the conference championship

I'd maybe have one UCLA DB on that list and not have Myles Jack. No idea where the DB love for UCLA came from. Also surprised Hundley made all second team.

• The All-Conference defensive team usually consists of 11 players (4 DL, 3 LB, 4 DB). However, there was a tie at defensive back for both the first team and second team. Hence, five defensive backs are listed on both squads. There was also a tie for second team AP/ST.
• Oregon’s Marcus Mariota is the first quarterback in league history to earn first team honors three times.
• Washington’s Shaq Thompson is a double honoree, earning first team honors on defense (LB) and special teams (AP/ST)
• First team honors by class: 11 seniors, 11 juniors, 4 sophomores.
• Second team honors by class: 11 seniors, 10 juniors, 4 sophomores, 3 freshmen

Apparently Jake Fisher has the strength of 10 men since he can make 1st team playing half a season and his absence was also the whole reason Arizona was able to beat them. We're screwed on Friday with that juggernaut in the lineup.
Perkins not even making 2nd team is the biggest fail - D.J. Foster is a nice player but doesn't belong in front of Perkins at all. (Or Nick Wilson, but I'm biased.....)
Too much love for a Stanford OL that for most of the year couldn't open a hole that Barry Sanders Sr. could run through.
At this point, I am happy with the Arizona snubs though....more fuel for the fire.....

Shout out to the Butkus award folks. So you don't have the defensive POY of the PAC 12 and first team LB as a finalist, but you do have Kendricks of Ucla who is a 2nd teamer for the Pac 12 as a finalist. That's a little awkward isn't it.

Kendricks doesn't deserve to be on that list ahead of Scooby, but he should have been a first team selection, as should Paul Perkins. Some of the other Bruins, however....
That list is a complete joke, and I would not hold it up as an example for anything. They got the Off POY, Def POY, and COY selections right, as for the rest of it... Not so much.

RichRod won the coach of the year. That must've been a landslide considering he squeezed 10 wins out of this sorry collection of players, right?
If the shoulder chip was starting to slide off amidst all the love we have been receiving, this cemented it back in place with super glue... Lots of snubbed guys lining up against all-conference counterparts on Friday

Skowron deserved an All-conference honor before Riggleman, who had a decent average but whose individual achievements didn't approach 110 points over the season, a couple of key onside kicks and a fake FG for touchdown. But that was just the tip of the iceberg of what was wrong with this sorry list.
Harvey, why can't you at least pretend I am aware of certain fundamental precepts of Arizona football, such as awareness of who plays different positions, before crafting your argument?
Every time you disagree with me is so ridiculously condescending I usually can't even respond to you. You have the most simplistic reading of my takes and respond like I'm some dumbsh*t who hasn't followed the program the last three decades.

Casey's been a big part of what this team has done all year and what he did against UW will forever be one of the best moments I've seen at the stadium (and there's been a lot of that this year.) That said, as important as kicking PATs and FGs is, winning the field position battle is just as important. Pushing your opponent back another 10 yards is 10 yards your defense has to work with. It's 10 yards you get back when you force the other team to punt it back. Riggleman isn't just one of the leaders in the Pac, he's also one of the top nationally.

Interesting how you pick and choose what stats to use. You fail to include Foster's 21 carries for 120 yds against Notre Dame, and his 15 carries for 96 yard and 3 td's against WSU. I personally dont think Foster should be 2nd team, but tell the whole story if you are going to use stats as support.
IMO Foster is a better slot receiver than he is a RB. Lets look at the regular season output of Paul Perkins, Nick Wilson, and DJ Foster:
Paul Perkins: 1583 total yards 9 TD's
Nick Wilson: 1355 total yards 16 TD's
DJ Foster: 1648 total yards 13 TD's
As you correctly noted, DJ Foster had quite a few of his rushing yards against bad teams (Weber St, New Mexico, and CU). I believe strength of schedule HAS to be taken into account, and when it is, I believe it is no contest, UCLA > ASU > UA, meaning the spot should have gone to Paul Perkins. Since there is such a disparity in OOC schedule, lets compare the players output in Pac 12 play:
Paul Perkins: 1199 total yards 7 TD's
Nick Wilson: 885 total yards 12 TD's
DJ Foster: 1075 total yards 9 TD's
So total output in conference play: Paul Perkins > DJ Foster > Nick Wilson
When looking at only rushing output, and given Nick Wilson injury situation this season, I would say of the 3 as strictly running backs: Paul Perkins > Nick Wilson > DJ Foster.
Also, I really believe the more accurate way of determining output would be to look at YPC against conference opponents. I just dont have time to crunch those numbers right now.

Yea really Perkins is the only one that I absolutely can't fathom not being on even the second team. It's a crappy list no doubt, but little representation from UA doesn't bother me. We just aren't a team of superstars. All I can guess is that Wilson's conference numbers are what was considered where looks a bit more average, especially gross numbers.

Good idea, and I'll return the favor. I am clearly unable to interpret the implied meanings of your posts... maybe they're actually intended to read as positive and objective as opposed to paranoid and angry.
Needing for ONE TEAM ahead of us to lose (which is all we needed whether we were ranked #7 or #8, aside from the one ahead of us that we're playing) is completely different than needing EVERY team to lose... especially when there are 6-7 ahead of us. Reasonably you could have meant that every team ahead of us in position for the 4 spot... which is still wrong.
If you assumed that we would jump an idle Mich St team with a win over Oregon, then why did you care so much if we were ranked 1 spot behind them? Your "shtick" is to post defeatist mumblings and then state "that's not what I meant".
In other news, we were ranked #7 in the CFP poll... which is exactly where we deserve to be right now. Must have been an erroneous result from the machine that is forever conspiring against Arizona football.

SDD just keeping it real again.
The disparity is UCLA to ASU/UA. Just keeping it real.

I think Barry Sanders Sr. is too old to run through very many holes but I could be wrong.

So it's actually some media director for the AD voting like in the coach's poll?

That's not the way you wrote your post. Sorry for reading what you wrote. "UCLA>ASU>UA" right after "such a disparity".
