Can't they retroactively go back and get a waiver for 2012? Isn't that what they did for Gilbert?Merkin wrote:btfd16 wrote:is he eligible for a medical redshirt?
Doesn't look like it, voluntary redshirt at Colorado Mesa whatever that is:
2012: Did not compete during his first year at Arizona while recovering from an injury.
Before Arizona: Redshirted the season at Colorado Mesa in 2011.
Sucks for sure. Hate to see a career ending injury like that.TuiTouchdown wrote:This sucks. Feel for the kid for sure. Did he reaggrovate it some how?

The sixth year is rare but... check out the first table out this PDF. This successful applicant played all of three seasons, and part of two others.
Wood has will have played two and none of three.
"In cases of injury, the institution must show that the student-athlete suffered injuries or illnesses that prevented him or her from competing for two seasons."
That sucks. A guy can play part of five seasons and get a sixth, but playing only two if you take a redshirt... disqualified.Merkin wrote:Sage&Silver wrote:Can't they retroactively go back and get a waiver for 2012? You only get 5 years to play 4. Some get a 6th if they get injured 2 years or so, but once you take a voluntary redshirt you lose any chances for a 6th year.
We get bigger with Hemilla. I don't want Bundage at C because he's our best run blocker so I'm hoping Hemmilla can snap it.whatisee wrote:Sucks for sure. Hate to see a career ending injury like that.TuiTouchdown wrote:This sucks. Feel for the kid for sure. Did he reaggrovate it some how?
Does our line actually get a little stronger with this move?
