Bradford is a 5-8, 202, Freshman running back from Calvary Baptist Academy, Shreveport, LA. A PrepStar All-American and All-State performer, Bradford ran for 3,495 yards in high school (7.5 ypc) and had 46 rushing TDs with 58 total TDs.
His biggest strength is versatility. Some teams look for a speed back and some look for power backs. Orlando is the perfect combo of both. He can break away 4.5 speed but is 210lbs of muscle and lowers the boom with the best of them. Orlando is a powerful runner that punishes all runners in his way but can also blow past any would be tackler.
Bradford is an excellent receiver out of the backfield. We often spread out to an empty set and throw the ball with Orlando as a slot. One of our most productive plays is hitting Bradford on a wheel route out of the backfield. It was almost a sure TD because in that much space, no one could catch him.
All the reports I have seen from camp emphasize how well built Bradford is and that he looks like he could play this year if required. The question is will he impress enough that the coaches have no choice, but to play him this year.
“Orlando is a tough, versatile running back who did everything well in recruiting when I watched him. He can run the ball and has a lot of power and speed. I’m very excited about him.” – UA Coach Calvin Magee
21 is the Arizona career interception record held by Chuck Cecil. One of those interceptions is remembered as the greatest play in Arizona Football history.

Wow, reading about Bradford reminded me of how Wilson runs.

If he really is > 200 pounds and runs a 4.5 I don't know how you can keep him off the field. Especially with Wilson having durability issues.
21 is the Arizona career interception record held by Chuck Cecil.
Holy cow is that impressive. He was always known as a punishing hitter but didn't realize he had so many picks.
Mario Hampton - “I remember this game like it was yesterday. My memory of this game is that the mighty Sooners earned that No. 6 ranking. That was a man’s game. Unlike the previous year when Oklahoma beat us on the scoreboard, but we beat them up physically, we earned their respect after that game. However, in ’89 we won the game but it was like being in a heavyweight fight. We beat each other up. I had never been hit so hard so many times in my life, but I loved it, going to battle with my Wildcat family.”
I'm seeing nothing but good things about Bradford. If he lives up to potential then Wilson/Bradford can be one of the deadliest backfields in CFB.

Really doubt he's anything more than a third back. If injuries happen he could be valuable.

But now Nick Wilson is Nick Wilson and I really don't see him beating out Baker who has had a strong summer and camp so far.

I'm OK with a three headed beast running over the Pac-12.

Right? Still no bye week this year. We'll need all 3 i think at some point this year. Just never know what will happen

He was technically the third back, but people plugged into the program said he'd be starting by mid-season, that he was that good. Didn't take him many carries to show how good he really was.
Glad someone focused their countdown on Tra'Mayne. He was a great player for Arizona. I would still like to hear the full story on why he didn't start until Stoops left. Your job is on the line and you leave the team's best defensive playmaker on the bench?

Best defender and for the most part, best offensive guy in Kadeem. Strange bird coach Stoops was

The same reason guys like Gino Crump, Bilal Muhammad and Jared Tevis didn't get any run that season until late. Or a still hobbled Adam Hall played one half. A coach that unorganized and overwhelmed was bound to overlook talent.

He trucked a Nevada defender on his long run and it was beautiful. Looked very good in limited PT.

He looked good doing it too. Good vision through the gap, burst through then truck-sticked the DB.

Should be the #2 RB going forward IMO. A legitimate alternative to Nick when he needs a breather. Great vision and speed. Ki8nda reminded me of Wilson actually

I'm impressed how fast he accelerates from the second he gets the handoff. Hit the hole in a hurry.

Usually what keeps true freshman running backs from playing is their blocking ability. Baker probably is a better blocker, and likely a better catcher out of the back field. Just a guess, this staff usually doesn't have problem starting true freshman.

I about fell off my chair during that run. Holy shit the kid looks absolutely legit. And how in the world does someone like that slip through the cracks, especially in the SEC's backyard? He also is a great kid with the intangibles. Well done once again RR.

Anybody see why he didn't get any carries last night? He was on the participation report but I don't remember seeing him out there.

I didn't see him once I don't think. My initial thought is maybe some gamesmanship for UCLA. Don't wanna give them too much studying material on him. I think the staff might realize he is a special talent and want to show the world what he can do Saturday.
It's probably actually none of that but I like to think we have a super secret weapon up our sleeve that will finally get us a win against UCLA.

No he's not. Thanks for pointing that out. RR is preoccupied with California though. You know that.

3 TD's with 83 yards rushing should be worth 233 points.
