Johnson is a 5-7, 160, Sophomore receiver from Fort Myers, FL. He played in every game as a Freshman last year catching 14 balls for 120 yards (8.6 ypc) and 3 TDs. Johnson was also the primary kickoff returner and had 29 returns for 687 yards (23.7 avg).
You may have heard that Johnson is fast (only because it is mentioned every time he appears in an article). He had 5 races under 10.5 seconds this year for Arizona track including a 10.41 to place 3rd at the P12 Championships. NFL.com listed him #7 of the 15 fastest players in CFB. Unfortunately, Johnson is starting off the season with a foot injury and may not be available for several weeks. When he is recovered Johnson should once again be returning kickoffs and will be a key part of the wide receiver rotation (because he is really fast).
Ware is a 6-0, 229, redshirt Freshman linebacker from Bishop Mora Salesian HS, Los Angeles, CA. He was both a Semper Fidelis and Blue-Grey All-American and Scout rated him 4 stars and the #23 outside linebacker in the class. Unfortunately, Ware arrived at Arizona with a shoulder injury and had to have surgery and rehab last summer which led to his redshirt year.
This year he is competing for playing time on special teams and as a reserve linebacker. Ware is not currently on the 2 deep, but it is filled with players who have more experience in the system and he could still play himself into the rotation.
2 is the number of PAC-10/12 Coach of the Year awards an Arizona coach has won. Dick Tomey won in 1992 and Rich Rodriguez won in 2014.
