Bear Down Wildcats

2015 Bear Down Wildcats Survival Pool week #3

Rules:

1) Pick 1 FBS team per week.
2) Select teams from games that week (Monday-Sunday).
3) That team must be UNDEFEATED.
4) Once you pick a team, you can't pick them again.
5) You must post your pick before your selection kicks off.
6) Miss a pick either by your pick losing, picking a team not playing, or failing to post a pick you're out.
7) The pick must be in the thread for that week.
8) Use a hottie picture to make your pick. (optional)

Any disputes will be solved by a vote of the posters still alive.

It's all about odds, boys. I certainly wouldn't pick either UCLA or UA in this pool that week, and there's at least a 50% chance that UA loses, so if I want to pick them once this season, this is the week to do it.

Couldn't disagree more. No requirement to ever pick Arizona and in my opinion the folks picking Arizona are very short sighted.

Yes, ucla is good. Yes, ucla has deeper talent. Yes, ucla will be favored next week. But what happens if Arizona wins?

For the 5 weeks after ucla Arizona will be favored and will have a good chance of going 9-0. The goal of the contest is not to pick Arizona before they lose, but to have as many of the undefeated teams late in the season to choose from. Bailing on Arizona early will cost folks if the Wildcats can manage the win next week.

From a strictly gamesmanship standpoint, there were plenty of other choices this week who were probable winners with tougher schedules in the future weeks.

Then there is the fan side of picking Arizona this week. Are you really expecting Arizona to lose next week? Have you forgotten Oklahoma State and USC in 2012? How about the BJ Denker led Wildcats beating Oregon? And then last year we had several comeback wins at home and a road victory over Oregon. It is time for some fans to start expecting victory instead of defeat.

After all, the school motto is "Bear Down" not "Yes we lost, but at least I predicted it."

On a positive note, I've really enjoyed the pictures of the Arizona girls!

I didn't have time this week to look at the schedules for all options so I went with what for me was a quick easy choice, regardless how things play out in the weeks to come.

A lot of close calls for posters this week (Mizzou, K-State, UCLA, Syracuse), and a couple teams that looked like they could be undefeated
for awhile going down ('Bama, U$C)
