Interesting ESPN article on the new access rules for coaches. No news, the article just points out that in the first year of the new access rules coaches will have to figure out how to balance the time limits.

My guess is that we will get more benefit out of the rule changes than most teams. Not just because we have a new QB to find/develop, but because we have a staff in good shape to take advantage of the rule changes. Our cohesive, experienced coaching staff will be able to make the most out of every meeting or coaching opportunity this summer while still balancing the demands of recruiting. It doesn't make much difference who is in town or on the road between Rich Rod, Magee, or Smith the others can step in and make sure we get the most out of every available contact. The same applies to Casteel and Kirelawich.

The staff knows and trusts each other as well as their systems. They will be able to speak with one voice to the players with every opportunity they have this summer to maximize player development. Hopefully, they also got some good advice from the Arizona basketball office who had to adapt to similar rule changes last summer.

Lift for Life workout results.
University of Arizona football hosted its inaugural Lift for Life in conjunction with its Uplifting Athletes chapter supporting Cystic Fibrosis Southern Arizona. In total, Arizona’s chapter of Uplifting Athletes has raised $3,850 in support of Cystic Fibrosis.

The team of Calvin Allen, Jacob Alsadek, Mickey Baucus, Keoni Bush-Loo, Marcus Griffin, T.D. Gross, Terris Jones-Grigsby, Hunter Layton, Jake Matthews, David Price, Jerrard Randall, Antonio Smothers and Parker Zellers raised the most money among the Wildcat teams.

Individually, William Parks was the top performer among the skill players, Scooby Wright was the top performer among the linebackers, running backs and tight ends and Dan Pettinato was the top performer among the line players.

Hasn't been announced yet. Rich Rod liked the trip to Ft Huachuca and is expected take the team there again. We should know all the answers by the end of the week with media day on Wednesday.

I thought the point was to get away from all the distractions in Tucson and the UA and just focus on team building at Huachuca. Pretty strange.

Just so many distractions.

Merk,
When was the last time you spent a summer in Tucson?
Not all that many distractions this time of year-pretty dead.
