Thursday and Friday are PAC 12 media days. Here's what you need to know if you want to watch.

I don't expect any news tomorrow. My biggest question is will we get a look at a new uniform without rainbow sleeves? Best thing is reporters will get access to coaches and players and it will generate some stories and new content for at least the next week. Oh, and Leach will say some funny stuff.

Camp can't get here soon enough!

Link to Coach Rod's media day interview transcript. A couple highlights:
Q. Having gone through spring ball with
the new defensive staff, do you have an idea yet
what your defense will look like?
RICH RODRIGUEZ: Oh, yeah, I know
what we're going to do on defense. In fact, when I
hired a coordinator, which was a little bit unique, I
wasn't looking so much for a scheme, because I
think schemes are overrated, as much as I was
looking for a personality and attitude. And I kind of
set the parameters, this is what I want him to do.
But I'm not going to coach it or teach it, I'm going to
let my defensive staff to do that. But I hired Marcel
Yates who scheme-wise was really good, but more
than anything I liked his personality, I liked the
personality of the defense, and I know what we're
going to do, I'm just not -- why tell anybody until we
have to. I mean, it's not like it's a big secret, but for
the first couple teams, they'll have to figure that
out.
Q. What's the most encouraging thing you
saw from your defense this spring?
RICH RODRIGUEZ: The most
encouraging thing I saw from our defense was,
again, just the renewed enthusiasm, and there's a
lot of young guys out there. It sounds like coach
speak, but hell, I don't really know how good we're
going to be, I just know we weren't really good last
year, and we need to get better.
The first person has got to take
responsibility, that's me. As the head coach, I'm
responsible for all phases of the team, and so I
looked at myself and say, geez, I've got to do a
better job of making sure we're getting better
defensively. There's going to be some growing
pains, but the future of our defense is going to be
really good.

I still feel like when RR went to SC to interview they told him, man we love your offense but your defense just won't work with our fans so sorry, we pass. He came back pissed off and made a committment to defense

I kind of doubt that just because of one thing - if you know that the guy is a no go because of that, if you're going to tell him that, why bring him in for an interview?

Maybe they told him who he had to hire as DC, and he balked. I think that's what might have happened with Va. Tech.

Fantastic news: RichRod feels like the team has two potential starting QBs. After watching the Territorial Cup last season, you thought that Anu would be challenged by Dawkins, and this confirms it.

That he noted Khalil Tate is...interesting? Is there a way--other than injuries--that coach gets Tate onto the field this season?

Coming out of media day, where's the news about the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow sleeves?

I think that in a perfect world Tate redshirts this year.

I think Tate should redshirt unless he becomes #2 in camp....which I don't see happening. Once Braxton steps on campus next year....ish is gonna get real.

Despite RR saying they're both getting first team reps and talking about Tate, I think Solomon is still the clear cut starter. RichRod does not like his quarterbacks to get too comfortable and wants to keep that fire lit at all times.

Who beats out a SR Anu? No one unless he retires or gets replaced this year I think. Would love for both Tate and BB to redshirt and let them go toe to toe in 3 years
