Gastelum is a 6'2", 255, redshirt Sophomore placekicker from ASSu, Arizona Western CC and Cibola HS, Yuma, AZ. A 5 star rated kicker and punter out of high school by Kohl's kicking who gave Gastelum this write-up:

Edgar has a top 5 leg nationally, special leg speed, KO weapon, FG are solid but not spectacular, with continued work he can get his FG to be more consistent, big-time potential, can hit 80 yard KO's, D1 talent. Edgar has been working on his punting and has made great improvement, His leg is fast and his hands are improving, Edgar's leg strength and frame project him to be more of a KO/Punter in college.

He was 5 for 7 for field goals, perfect on 49 extra points, kicked 36 of 39 kickoffs for touchbacks, and averaged 43 yards on 20 punts as a senior in high school. In 2014 for Western Arizona CC he was 10 of 14 on field goals (long of 42 yards) and 56 of 57 on extra points making 2nd team All-NJCAA. Last year he redshirted at the school up north.

Gastelum's strength is as a kick-off specialist so he may take that task away from Pollack and serve as our back-up kicker. He will also be in the middle of the punter competition.

Gastelum was added late to the countdown because he was just added to the roster on 4 Aug.

He never redshirted at ASU, he didn't make the roster. His soph year at Arizona Western was very sophmoric. He was 9-17 in field goals and 23-27 in extra points. His hands are too slow for a punter and he is shaky on field goals. He has good kick off power and if he excels anywhere, it's there. He was brought on for kick offs and insurance. I don't see him mastering the rodeo punt but we shall see.

When I was in high school that was an offensive lineman and on the larger side of things.
