17 Josh Kern

Kern is a 6'5", 235, redshirt Senior from San Antonio, TX. He played in every game last year and had 2 starts (he was the starting tight end, but we normally don't start with a tight end formation). You will be shocked to know that he was primarily used as a blocker. Kern did catch the first 2 passes of his career in the opening game and went on to have 8 catches on the season including 1 TD.
Now, what's going to happen this year? Because Kern was the player chosen to speak at Zach Hemmila's funeral, I think we can look to him to be one of the team's leaders. He will likely be the number 2 tight end with Trevor Wood back from injury and turning heads in the weight room and on the field. We are going to see more targets of the tight end this year (yes I've said that for 3 years), but Kern will have difficulty topping 8 catches because of all the competition at tight end on the team.
17 is Nick Foles' Arizona record for consecutive games throwing a TD pass.
