Braaten is a 6-0, 204, preferred walk-on Freshman punter from Thunder Ridge HS, Highland, CO. Last year he had 16 punts averaging 40.4 yards with 3 inside the 20 and a long of 74. Braaten made both his field goal attempts with a long of 45 yards and was 29 of 32 on PATs. He won the 2017 Ray Guy Prokicker.com Top Prospect Award and initially committed to Indiana as a walk-on, but switched to Arizona last month. Here is his evaluation from the Chris Sailer Camp:
Cameron is a talented high school punter. A good looking athlete with a great college punting frame. Shows he can hit a big ball at times. The potential is there. He needs to work on becoming more consistent to move higher up the rankings. The potential is there. A hard worker with a great attitude. I expect to see him make a big jump in the rankings from camp 1 to camp 2. He should compete very well in Las Vegas this coming January. He has the tools to play at the college level. One to keep a close eye on.
Thanks to a lot of unclaimed numbers over the next couple weeks get used to seeing some walk-ons covered.
63 was the number of points Josh Pollack scored last year which led the team.
