Ramirez is a 6-2, 240, Freshman linebacker from Auburndale HS, West Orlando, FL. He was all-state and team captain as a Senior. More importantly, Ramirez was a midyear enrollee and had a head start on being one of the Freshman ready to play this year. Here is some of his write-up from AZDS:
Ramirez is likely a stud linebacker and his chances of playing this year are directly related to how fast and how long Deandre' Miller is healthy.“Arizona is a better opportunity for me,” when asked about his flip. “The Pac-12 fits my playing style. They (Arizona) need me to drop back and cover guys, especially since the Pac-12 is pass happy. I also like that this is the staff’s first recruiting class. They made me feel like Arizona is home.”
Ramirez has never been to Tucson, but he is a mid-year enrollee. He should be making his way to the Old Pueblo next week and is excited to see it for the first time.
“Getting out there and seeing how it is,” he said about what he’s looking forward to. “I’m excited about getting out on the field and making that money.”
Ramirez is not a hard hitter, but he is a sure tackler and makes difficult open-field tackles. He is a sideline-to-sideline linebacker and covers a lot of ground quickly. He finished his senior season with 126 tackles, 6.5 TFL, 0.5 sack, 1 PBU, 5 forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery for a touchdown.
