Right. We held serve against NAU, this one's the yardstick to measure the team.

You know we're bad when we're a home dog to a non power 5 school that hasn't played a game yet and lost their best players and coach after last season.

If AZ can throw for at least 200 they win. That's a big if.

I'm not sure Arizona throw for 100 yards against an opponent.

Maybe in modern day college football 2017, there's so much less good tackling training left that a team/coach can be a contrarian in a passing geared league and run for 500 yards a game, so long as you aren't facing a defensive line like Alabama's. At least vs ASU and NAU it works

This is probably the week I decide whether or not to pull out the pitchfork and tiki torch and dust them off for the castle storming escapade I know so many people here are looking forward to.

I can't believe the whinging from some "fans". Have you forgotten what a team that quit on the coach looked like? It wasn't that long ago and you did not have to be an insider or even a pretender to see the signs under the coach between Stoops and Tomey. It was obvious to everyone.
No matter how bad you think it has gotten do not pick up a tiki torch! It is not longer an acceptable accessory.

All those same signs are there right now under RR. The program is simply in a bad place right now and a new direction is needed. All the hand wringing over "golly gosh well it'll work itself out and it needs more time" is the talk of not wanting the program to succeed.

Well don't just sit there, tell us what the signs are for crying out loud! So far all I've seen is the signs of a coach that recognized he was doing some things wrong and has since tried to correct it and we all know it might have been to little to late but what signs are you talking about?

I just watched the game again, WTF are you talking about? What signs that that team has quit?
I can't let this go, you must prove what you are talking about or leave it be. Show us the proof or stop talking out of your ass. Give us the Quarter/Time during the game and we'll see.

562 yards to NAU. And like I've already said, it's been talked about and posted on this boars multiple times. Also, I never said the team has quit, just that RR doesn't have the locker room. Different things completely. Not my job to hold your hand and give you a pacifier and read for you.
Fire RR.

You are becoming a boil on this board's ass. If we had won the game by a touchdown like ASSU did, than 560 yds to NAU would be an extremely big deal, they fucking scored 14 points in the first half and 10 in the second.
Please slow your roll, and get out of whatever funk you are in, you'll thank me for it.

So how different are the FBS power 5 teams from the FCS? We have seen many kids move down so they didn't have to redshirt. We have seen kids choose those schools because the NFL will find you.
Its not like NAU didn't have some quality skill people because they did. We are talking about probably a couple inches in height and a couple of tenths in a forty. The difference is in the lines and it eventually played out that way
The cats started slow, had Some jitters but rolled to a 38 point win. No way thee kids quit and fly on the wall surmised that RR may have lost the locker room. Chief says he hasn't. I think in no way would theory lose it in the first game or they would have lost.
Like Tomey said, its tough to win a football game. Ask Baylor or teams who have played North Dakota St or App St or Jacksonville St.

Who are you referring to?
the person has already been notified via PM, but I felt that stating it in the thread would be good too as it had already been quoted before I saw it and so I had to go and edit not 1 but 2 posts. You should be able to tell who it was though just by looking at the posts (hint:...........)

Found it interesting that Houston plays the 3-3-5 most of the time and switches to a 3-4 for certain teams.
They seem to have no problems recruiting big uglies on the defensive front playing that scheme.

They're very good at recruiting local talent and keeping Houston kids in Houston.

Houston has one of the best defensive players in the nation on the d line. Probably will be a top 5 pick in the draft in 2019.

Yes they are. Just comparing that to the woe is me crowd who says most teams have a hard time getting quality d tackles. This non power 5 team seems to be pretty good at it. Yea I know, local talent and we have none but a dynamic recruiter would help.
Not to long a go we had a coach who had 4 NFL draft choices on the D front (Mitchell, Brooks Reed, D'Aundre Reed and Ricky Elmore). He also had Tuihalamka and makaele and recruited Gilbert and Pettinato.
It can be done guys

Tough to accomplish with a former defensive coordinator that didn't like to recruit. Like many of you, I want to see what happens this Saturday as this game will speak volumes......one thing that I have yet to see mentioned after the NAU game. That fucking beautiful pre-game head butt by none other than our very own, Chuck Cecil!
Helmet to no fucking helmet no less. Something to muthafucking believe in!

Laugh out loud!! I wonder what Chief would be saying if this was Arizona's first game of the year, on the road with a new staff, playing against a team that already has a game under it's belt? There's a reason why teams have a big improvement from week one to week two. Especially true when you have a young D that is finding it's way. Being able to watch the film and see what reads they missed etc is so invaluable.
That said, I'm not sure we can win 4 games with Dawkins as our QB.
