Love the afternoon game, but sucks again much of the US won't see Tate destroy ASU.

I love the timing. This year I am not going to give my $$ to ASU. I am just going to have a watch party at my house.

This game is the only game that matters to me at this point.
Sure, I want us to win whatever toilet bowl we go to.
This game though, is the one I'd prefer we win.
This game is a must win.

Yea bowl is largley irrelevant. Just beat ASU. We're playing for Vegas or El Paso right?

I'd think tonight we lost any shot at a Holiday or Foster farms bowl. I'd be looking at Las Vegas hotel rooms and a rematch against Boise State at this rate.

Honestly, I don't know, nor do I care. I can't remember right now which bowl we'd be in position to be picked for, and it doesn't matter to me.
Just beat ASsU.

Last year ASU was 56th or so in rushing defense AFTER Arizona put up 511 on them. This year they’re somewhere around 74th. Their passing defense is about as bad as last year’s was. Granted, AZ’s defense is worse in those categories, but they were also bad last year. If Tate connects on a few short passes early on and the defense gets a couple of takeaways, AZ will run off with this one. There’s a lot of talk about how ASU can move the ball and put up points. They’re 39th in total offense in FBS. Arizona? 9th. They’re 45th in total offense. Arizona? 6th. This ASU defense is not much different than last year’s and Dawkins ran riot on them. ASU will be motivated to avenge last year. But this is definitely a winnable game for AZ.

Cats haven't beaten them up there since RR got here. After the last 2 road games and with this defense, I don't see it happening this year either.

This video popped up in my facebook feed from 6 years ago. It was a video message from me and my boys to my good Devil friend. My kids were so little then, but very smart! Thought it was funny and I would share.

Also, remember one little wildcard here: Cecil is gonna have those guys out there fired up. This one's personal for him, and he's gonna make sure the rest of the guys feel the same way.

So this morning I have had two different ASSU colleagues come up to me and tell me they have heard Tate is out with his knee. Has anyone else heard this I saw Tate walking around on the field after the game Saturday and he wasn't labored and seemed basically OK. I know he tweaked it but maybe he had an MRI after he got back to Tucson?

I'll always remember what a special asu beclowning 2016 was - to be steamrolled for 500+ rushing yards and Az didn't even attempt a single 2nd half pass?? How many times has that been done in FBS?
Hopefully Tate, Wilson, Taylor, Green and Dawkins can ring up 600 or 700 yards and 60 points this year.

I think this is 1984. If I recall correctly (had a few beverages that night), I helped carry the north goal post out of the stadium after the game.

Arizona can beat ASU with Dawkins at QB. They've got a full stable of RBs this year as well.

Re: Arizona at ASU Territorial Cup discussion thread
Since the mouth breathers from the toilet known as Tempe like to state that the overall record is bogus since they weren't actually a university in those early years (I like to argue back that they aren't an actual university now) here is the record since joining the PAC:

Not buying it. ASU is going to a bowl game no matter what, and the kicker being that ASU will have to pay Graham $3.2M a year until June 30, 2021 if fired without cause.
Athletics director Ray Anderson declined to extend Graham’s contract at the end of last season like he had in previous years, an ominous sign for a coach who went 28-12 in his first three seasons at Arizona State but has gone 15-17 since. The cost of buying out Graham, however, is the entire salary left on his contract, which would put Anderson and company in a tough spot if they wanted to make a change.

Haha, great story on the depths both these teams will go in their hatred for one another. The post game brawl of fans is something I fear we will see again and probably soon

If they had already been eliminated from bowl contention going into the game and they lost to us, maybe he'd be fired. But I don't see it as is.

I dunno... If RR was 6-5 heading into this game and lost I'd want the guillotine...
Then again, Toad has had more collective success during his tenure - so him getting canned (when RR clearly won't be) would be pretty strange.
In terms of season accomplishments, these 2 teams are about as evenly matched entering this game as I can remember (although I suppose in 2014 we were, too).
- We both sit at 5-3 in P-12 play
- We each have only 1 win against P12 teams in the upper half of their division
- They have 1 loss to a team in the lower half of their division standings, we have 2
- Our overall record is better... but had we played their OOC schedule, I think we'd have an additional loss.
This one shapes up to be a good one... Win and I will leave the season happy with a successful campaign and looking forward to next year with Khalil Tate.
Lose, and it will feel like RR did 'just enough' to keep his job, with the help of a very favorable conference draw.... Yawn.
