If Tate can play great platform for him for the Heisman in 2018

Agreed. It's on Fox to. Would assume AZ is favored.

Purdue has a pretty good defense(#19 nationally) and a bad offense (#97).

Well teams with good defenses we struggle against and teams with bad offenses seem to have great days against us.

Expect RR to elect to receive if AZ wins the coin toss. They're going to want to make Purdue chase points, which is something they aren't equipped to do. Stay with the high percentage plays, move the chains, and take the shots when the chances are there. If you go three and out too many times Purdue is just going to sit on the ball and kill clock.

Of course I will be in Tucson that day, instead of being 3 hours south like usual.

Your very confidence Arizona going to win big somehow against Purdue?
Have seen Purdue result in all of their games to remotely think Arizona has a shot to winning.
This game is going to come down to Arizona offense moving the ball on the Purdue Defense.
Don't get too confident just yet. This is going to be Arizona toughest game ever. I do want Arizona to win just don't chase rabbit down the hole just because we have Khalil Tate at the helm.

Went to Santa Clara for the P12 championship game, the Stanford game last year, and the NCAA tourney...we are O-fer, bad memories there. Also, not really a fun town. I would much rather go to Las Vegas.

Merkin, where do you live three hours South of Tucson ?

RR wants to hire a real OL coach.

I was thinking maybe Ajo? That's about three hours from the UofA football stadium and its Southwest.

Yes, thank you! Going north 3 hours to Santa Clara from the central coast is a very nice and easy drive. Going 3 hours south to LA/OC is just awful though.

So, anybody here going? I live in Pleasanton, and I'm thinking about going with a buddy of mine (who didn't go to U of A, but likes football).
Just checking so I know who to avoid...

I'm not going. I guess my GoodFan score goes down. I hate Santa Clara. There is just bad mojo there for the Cats. I will be on a small holiday trip with the family and will root for the Wildcats from a sportsbar in Bisbee.

Who: Arizona (7-5) vs. Purdue (6-6)
When: Dec. 27, 8:30 p.m.
Where: Santa Clara, California
Why Watch: To see freak athlete Khalil Tate of Arizona run and throw against the dramatically improved Purdue defense. And to see whether the Pac-12 or Big Ten gets the first win in four head-to-head matchups between two leagues that missed the College Football Playoff.
Best Foster Farms Bowl Ever: Utah 26, Indiana 24, last year. The Hoosiers led early, then trailed by 10, then rallied to take the lead in the fourth quarter. Then the Utes drove 68 yards for the winning field goal with 1:24 remaining. (See Pinstripe Bowl for more information on Indiana’s defense surrendering bowl-losing late drives.)
Absentee Coach Factor: None.
Dash Pick: Purdue 23, Arizona 20. The Wildcats hadn’t won a game in the state of California since 2013 until beating Cal in October. Time to start a new Cali losing streak, and time for the Boilermakers’ first victory in the state since 1970.
Conference Scorecard: Big Ten 1-1, Pac-12 2-2.
Have to think the Cats score more than 20 if Tate is healthy

Cats lowest scoring games were 16 v. Houston and 24 v. Utah, both losses had Dawkins as QB.
With a healthy Tate, Taylor and Wilson Cats are going to score at least 35, win or lose.
