Plays on a network no one gets
Plays at times no one watches
Makes less money (TV) than other conferences

Results in:

Inferior recruiting
No top tier coaching
No Playoff
A 1-8 Bowl record

Can’t disagree with any of that. The fact that the conference was pretty much eliminated from playoff consideration in October is all you need to know.

Fire Larry Scott*

*not sure if it’s actually all his fault, but fuck that guy

Larry Scott's contract was extended until 2022 for reasons I can't comprehend.

On another note there's a very big reason Chip Kelly took the UCLA job over other perceived better jobs and it's cause he know he can absolutely dominate this conference for every reason mentioned in the original post, especially with Clay Helton as the coach of his biggest competition.

Btw, when Pendergast had the personnel at Cal, he held Kelly offense to 40 below season avg.. Just saying...

None of the big egos at the member institutions want to admit they’ve made a horrific mistake. So they of course compounded it.

I'd add craptastic officiating.

Well despite the inane conplaints about Bama making the playoff (All the whiny bitching about “SEC bias”)... I think it is crystal clear that they picked the right team to round out the playoff.

Saban-envy notwithstanding, the 2 best teams in college Football are playing for the National Championship next Monday. Even if some dogshit conference (and/or conference champs) got snubbed. Boo-fucking hoo!

1 needs to change right away. Even if it means getting less per subscriber from Cox and Comcast and Dish
2 nothing will change if you want to be on the two powers of college football (ESPN and Fox)
3 nothing will change until alumni give a shot. Will take a huge culture change

F Larry Scott. Fire him and hire Byrne. Byrne wasn't perfect here and I like Heeke more in a few areas but Byrne would have at least the ability to expand the network and would take chances to improve the culture and times

What boggles my mind is the most influential Pac 12 president is Michael fucking Crow. He worships Larry's bald spot and every one follows his lead once again for reasons I can't comprehend.

Why the hell is he the most influential?

All of his asu boondoggles to create the “new American university” fail.

The Cal president is very upset with Scott. But she has that huge boondoggle of a stadium that needs to get paid for, with no current means to do so.

Hopefully her being so vocal will help sway the other campus presidents, since every PAC program needs those funds other conferences are getting.

Also runs the biggest school, and one with a lot of reach with its online offerings and partnership with Starbucks and other companies.

While very accurate, he should never have more power/influence than the California school presidents in any way shape or form. To sum it up his school isn't the swinging big dick of the conference.

Most certainly true. You would think as far as sports is concerned, the hierarchy would be.....

USC

UCLA
Oregon
Arizona
Cal

ASSU, Utah, Wazzu, ntOSU all tied for last.
