I think both would consistently produce 7-8 win seasons. If this is about physical attractiveness, Miles is past his prime.

Miles is 64. The game has passed him by.

If you polled SoCal recruits and asked them who Les Miles is....most wouldn’t know. If you asked them who Kevin Sumlin was....most would know. You have to have West Coast recruiting knowledge and ties. Sumlin has that....Miles does not. Kids are not gonna flock to a 64 year old white coach at Arizona. Not gonna happen.

I'm not opposed to retreads, in principle. Everyone is someone's "ex." However, I'm really in favor of finding a fresh face who will stay and build up the program. For the sake of the poll, I pick Miles, in hopes that his connections will allow him to fill out his staff with competent individuals (including a good OC, QB coach, and recruiting coordinator). His record will sell to recruits, whereas Sumlin will rely on personality.

I don't mean this as an insult to U of A football but I would think Arizona is a huge step down for Miles and Sumlin based on their successes at real football schools. But if the price is right I guess anything is possible.

Yeah, I don't want to break the bank for either of these guys. Miles could easily be Dennis Erickson at ASU if he comes here. I think he still has some name recognition and could lure recruits with his championship ring and guys like Patrick Peterson and Tyrann Mathieu coming to practices. Sumlin is mostly hype, in my eyes. A higher profile RR, if you will.

Sorry man, I didn’t see it. My head is hurting from some of these posts. It’s system overload.

Saban is 66. I dont think age has anything to do with it.

First Saban is in a league all of his own...a frickin’ legend. Second, he sure doesn’t look or act 66 to me. Lastly, I disagree that age is a non-factor.....takes a lot of energy to Coach, recruit and manage a program....not to mention relate to young men.

Houston's last five coaches:

Art Briles (leaves for Baylor, fired for fostering culture of unpunished sexual assault)
Kevin Sumlin (leaves for A&M, fired over blue chip transfers and mediocre performance post-Manziel)
Tony Levine (fired, joins Jeff Brohm at Western Kentucky and Purdue)
Tom Herman (leaves for Texas, on hot seat)
Major Applewhite (7-6 overall, 0-2 in bowls)

I sense a trend with these guys. Why are we considering Sumlin and Applewhite, again?
