58 Layth Friekh

Friekh is a 6-5, 297, redshirt Senior offensive tackle from Glendale, AZ. He has started 33 games over the last 3 years at left tackle and played in every game making him the most experienced player on the team. Friekh played 1 game in 2014 and the NCAA in its peremptory and capricious wisdom decided he will have to miss the first 2 games of this year to have a fifth year of eligibility. So, we will have to find a replacement to face the 2 sets of cougars with their full grown men and Ed Oliver respectively, before Friekh returns to anchor the line.
Offensive lineman do not get enough credit in football and that includes on this countdown. There are no highlights to show, stats to compare, or other ways to highlight their worth. Just know that Friekh is a stud! He has quietly and consistently been one of our best players and we are fortunate to have him back for a fifth year (although we should have him for every game. Thank you very much NCAA.).
58 on the negative side is the number of rushes Colorado had against us last year and also the number of receptions by Washington State both season highs. We have to get better on defense!
58 on the positive side is how many points we scored against Washington State for our highest conference score last year.
