Sulunga is a 6-2, 270 (+15 since signing), Freshman defensive tackle from Calabasas HS, Inglewood, CA. Sulunga signed early with Arizona after racking up 17 tackles (3.0 for a loss), 3.0 sacks, 1 PBU, and 1 forced fumble in a half-season last year (due to transfer rules). Here's Brandon Combs AZ Desert Swarm write-up from signing day:
Sulunga is quietly a good pickup for the ‘Cats. He has a high motor and almost a relentless style to his game. He showed some pretty good moves a couple of times this season. His stats aren’t mind-blowing for his senior season, however, that’s partly because he had to sit out half the season after transferring from St. John Bosco High School. There are times Sulunga plays with high pad level so that is something that will need to be corrected.
55 yards per game was Arizona's penalty average last year. That put us right in the middle of the conference. Texas A&M averaged 45 penalty yards/game in 2017.
