Apparently, Keyshawn Jr is still not with the team and Young Jr is still suspended. Anyone have any intel as to what’s going on in these two situations?

By the way, tonight's thread brought to you by JW Dundee's Honey Brown.

Partially explains how the made Manziel look so good.

“There’s more locked-on routes,” Brown said. “In the last offense, we had more read routes. Now, it’s more like if you have a corner route, you run a corner. If you have a go route, you run a go, rather than run a go route and turn it into a curl.”

For Young, coaches thought he was not appropriately punished for the situation last year and has been suspended and will be back soon I believe

Some nice photos from last nights scrimmage.

Coach Sumlin on the scrimmage from AZ Desert Swarm:
On quarterback Khalil Tate’s development:
“I think every day that we’re out here he understands a little more of the big picture,” Sumlin said. “At that position, the whiteboard, the video, the walk through is nothing, nothing like full speed. That phase of it is ongoing.

On having Tate on the cover of Sports Illustrated:
“It’s great exposure for the university,” Sumlin said. “Anytime you have a player that has something like that, or is a national award winner or finalist, we’ve always looked at that as a team award. You can’t be 0-12 and do that. It takes a bunch of other people, coaches, players, a lot of different things to put yourself in that position.”

On his relationship with Tate, and quarterbacks in general:
“I’ve told quarterbacks this since Case Keenum (at Houston), quarterback and the head coach get way, way too much credit when we win and we get all the blame when we lose,” Sumlin said. “Because of that you have to have that kind of (strong) relationship. You don’t usually blame the right guard when you lose.”

On the quarterbacks in general:
“Tonight was important because we can’t give all seven guys these reps for the next three weeks,” Sumlin said. “We’re going to make some decisions (Sunday) based on a lot of different things. The decision-making process for that position is extremely important.”

On the linebacker corps:
“They’ve been extremely competitive with the offense,” Sumlin said. “Competitive but not combative. They haven’t been over the top, starting fights, but they’ll light you up, let you know about it. They’re having some fun out there. That energy has been infectious.”

On Scottie Young’s status after being reinstated
“We really don’t have a relationship with him,” Sumlin said. “He’s been suspended since we’ve been here. That’s where it is with him.”

Liked the part on the LB's, and the info on Wilborn

Safety sounds like a loaded group which is a plus. Scottie is going to have to work to play this year it sounds like...might be a red shirt candidate

I'm hearing we've got ourselves a punter.

As long as Khalil stays healthy, we won't need a punter!

The team is having another Walk On tryout 2 weeks into camp. Either they need some bodies or that's not good news.

If you hold a scrimmage and nobody sees it, did it really happen?

I thoroughly dislike that 'erazona' branding stuff.

Yeah, maybe its a catchy hashtag, but its ugly. Its even worse than 'Zona' all by itself, if that is even possible.

Yup, the "Zona" b.s. has always grated on me.

"Zona" is right up there with "Frisco"

"erazona is no better. Plus, in bad times, could "erazona" become "errorzona" in places like Tempe?

I wonder if Villanova fans hate "Nova" as much as UA fans hate "Zona"?

We are Arizona!

I've never disliked the Zona moniker at all and I don't understand why most of our online fanbase seems to hate it honestly.

Ar-i-zon-a is a mouthful and UA doesnt work on a national level due to how many U of As there are, so Zona just like Nova, is a very natural and identifiable shortening of our name, nothing more nothing less.

Zona doesn't bother me. There are plenty of other things that bother me to worry about this.
