U of A 54 Southern Utah 7

If Tate gets his ego in check and both him and Sumlin agree to not try to showcase NFL skills and to try to win this season will turn around on offense. Defense not sure what exactly is needed that can be done this year. Too many issues.

The Southern Utah QB torched ntOSU for 340 yards and 2 TDs.

Cats DL is going to finally have to figure out how to pressure a QB, and the Cats OL needs to figure out how to open some holes for the UA RBs.

But FCS teams are smaller and slower. They might keep it close for a bit for Cats roll 51-21.

The concerning thing for me is that our O-line has looked like an FCS team the first two games. Getting Friekh back will help, but the question is how much? Especially if Eldridge is out another game.

I want to say we win by 30, but nothing so far has given me that confidence. We didn't score when Houston had their entire 1st team defense on the field, and we couldn't stop their 2nd string offense either.

We win, I guess. You couldn't pay me to go or watch though. I'll be in Chicago and it'll be a 10 pm kickoff on a TV channel no one gets.

Not gonna watch. Got better things to do with my time.

Toss up. We legitimately look like the worst P5 team and the atmosphere is going to be flat, flat flat. I still want to think we win, but we have just looked so bad.

If Tate is hurt, or auditioning for the NFL, would be interesting to see the other QBs. RhettRod didn't actually look that bad against the UH scrubs, although he was sacked at the end.

What like to see what Lane can do, and the true frosh QBs. They do get 4 games to maintain their redshirt, and this would be about the best game for them to build up some confidence.

1) I support the team no matter what so I will be there loud and proud like a real man and a real fan

2) since we have so many fair weather fans after further review it is much more important to set up the team for the rest of the season than the score so think about how you want Tate to be this year Sumlin? Auditioning for a job he cant get or to win games and put him in position to make a living t playing football as a Rb/Wr who can throw the ball when needed

Hard pass on cats vs southern Utah and whatever testicular fortitude is needed to suffer through that tripe. I sure as hell ain’t getting those a three hours+ back. Opportunity costs.

But we all get our entertainment through a variety of outlets. If going to Tucson for the game is Machina’s, well, have fun!

Oregon State is pretty bad and we can beat them. Also have Cal, WSU, and ASU at home. UCLA doesn't look very good. We at least have a chance in all 5 of those. We probably go like 4-8 or 3-9.

2-10 seem about right. But you also have to caution Oregon State might a W if UA offense keep up the current tune. Cal has a much improve defense, WSU you can just forget about it, UCLA better hope Chip Kelly doesnt find a QB on his team. ASU do i really have to say it.

Greg Hansen's column today is saying 2-10, esp. if Tate is not 100%.

I am not sure I have been as bearish on AZ football AT anytime in history. Those wacko years maybe, but they had some talent. This team is showing all of the OKG recruiting mistakes with a different scheme.

I will probably check in on the game but won't be driving down. Far to late and not a good use of funds for food and a hotel. Just can't believe we are here in September, week 3 and the season is already over.

I am just happy I don't get the PAC-12 network. That way, I won't even be tempted to check in on the game. I will read about it in the Sunday paper.

Even if we win 40-10, it won't show whether the team has improved one iota. This is already one of the most disappointing seasons in many years, and it is only 2 games in. Wake me once Sumlin has shown he can actually recruit good player to Tucson and proves that he can make Arizona actually compete for something other than conference doormat.

Not recent history, but I really thought Larry Smith was going to take the Cats to the Rose Bowl.

But then USC thought the same thing and hired Smith before the UA could get there.

Larry Smith, last UA head coach to move up to a better position. The rest just end up never being a college head coach again like Stoops and Mackovic, while others like Tomey move to a much smaller program like SJSU.

Dead end position for sure, no wonder the Cats end up with retreads.

Sumlin still deserves 3 years, and the UA cannot afford to pay him off anyway, after paying out $8M to RichRod, but like has been mentioned in another thread, use the basketball model of getting a young head coach from a smaller school, instead of head coaches from other P5 schools that have been fired, or position coaches.

We should all be angry. I fired off an email to Heeke just asking for an explanation on the direction of the program. It certainly is not win now. I feel really jilted by the hype they let out and so far no explanation on the poor execution of game plans.

I challenge anyone to say we are a well coached team. We look like we don't practice and worse we look like we don't care.We have very few scholarships to give away so unless we purge our roster mightily there will be no rainbows on the horizon in the near future

I can think of 50 things I’d rather do and spend my money on Saturday night that to watch or attend this game

Heeke should probably just respond as follows: Dear fan, thank you for your interest in Arizona football. While we just hired a new coach a few months ago, I'll probably fire him in a couple weeks anyway, no later than after this season. I, like you, am very disappointed in coach Sumlin in that he couldn't take our current roster of "Our Kinda Guys" and turn them into PAC-12 champions in Year 1. I made those expectations very clear to coach Sumlin the day I hired him. A natty year 2 was also a required goal. Seeing no clear direction yet towards those goals, please stay tuned for the upcoming coaching search to head the University of Arizona football program. Also, please enjoy a beer at Arizona Stadium. The athletic department needs all the revenue we can get to pay two people who no longer coach our team.
