Schooler is a 6-1, 229, Junior linebacker from Dana Point, CA. He has played in every game since arriving at Arizona and started the last 21 and been consistently outstanding as the leader of the defense. Schooler enters this season with 214 tackles (35 for a loss), 9 pass break-ups, 7.5 sacks, 4 interceptions, 2 forced fumbles, 1 fumble recovery and 1 TD for his career. He was a running back in HS and has made the most of his interceptions averaging 50.5 yards a return.
He has progressed from being a Freshman All-American, to a AP 1st team and coaches honorable mention All-Conference player last year, and it is hard not to believe he will continue to improve and impress in his Junior year where he is already on every watch list possible. Schooler is the heart and soul of our defense and hopefully can lead the unit to a strong year.
