33 Tyler Loop

Loop is a 6-0, 160, Freshman kicker from Lovejoy HS, Lucas, TX. He is the highest ranked player at his position in this recruiting class. Kohl's ranks him the #5 kicker of the class and also a highly ranked punter. Here's Kohl's write-up:
“He is one of the most refined field goal kickers in the country,” reads his Kohl’s Kicking profile. “He has the talent to play at a top Division 1 college and this upcoming year. In December Loop won the field goal and kickoff portion of the Texas Showcase. His ball striking was outstanding. In July of 2018 Loop charted an 82-yard, 3.7 second kickoff at camp with a tailwind. He also scored 24 points during the field goal portion of the Kohl’s National Scholarship camp in July of 2018. Loop is a solid D1 kicker and will compete early in his career in college.”
We need better consistency in field goals and PATs and Loop will get a chance to compete for the starting job. Oh, and we can always use a better punter.

Sorry to be picky here, but how can one be ranked the best at his position in this recruiting class and still ranked the #5 kicker in this class? Does "Kicker" take into account punting duties also? Just doesn't make sense to me.

Either way, hope he helps change our poor special teams output of late.

Welcome Tyler.
