Why would anyone work for a head coach who has had 9 jobs in 12 years? Unless you have a similar gun for hire resume who will leave on the next train out of Dodge. Maybe Chuck Cecil who has some Tucson roots now, but is Chuck willing to recruit?

Was it ever announced how Robbins' plays did in a real game?

Anyone whom Arizona isn't a final destination for. Fisch knows 75% of the coaches in football based upon bouncing around all the time. I'm sure he can be a nice reference.

Well i heard that Fisch is going to hired Assistant with UA ties? I dont now if that true or untrue because becoming a HC you want to hired your own people. Can anyone confirm this.

The guy knows absolutely everybody everywhere. Honestly that's the one thing I am excited for this hire for. He's coached absolutely everywhere and knows who's good and who would be right for this program and the direction he wants to go in. I've also heard rumblings of Pete Carroll's son being on his list as a possible OC. He's currently working for the Seahawks rn as the run game coordinator.

That's an upside of having worked for 15 employers in 23 years. You get to know a lot of people.

I know many disagree, but I would love to see a staff of Wildcats, that's about the only thing that can get me behind this, but I am guessing he will be filling his staff with current NFL guys.

I wouldn't doubt it, but Fisch needs to hit the ground running, and hire some coaches that already have recruiting ties to high schools and JCs. Tucson has no patience for anyone continuing the record losing streak.
Along with being able to recruit players coming into the transfer portal from other schools, and able to convince current players from leaving. Obviously the Fisch hire didn't help Gunnell in staying.

I have no idea how Carroll would be as a game caller but what he has done with the sub par o-line has been something. There is a lack of talent on Seahawks O-line but they run it well.
Also, I wouldn’t expect a spread but a traditional pro sets with focus on hard nose running and play action.

Seattle always runs the ball well. Maybe if we could grab him we could run an offense like the LA Rams. Fisch does have experience with the Rams. That'd be something

As a Rams fan, that year was all smoke and mirrors and the defenses caught on real fucking quick.

Seahawks offense has been terrible for weeks, coinciding with their renewed focus on running the ball. Letting Russ cook worked great, reverting to their old ways, not so much.

Well, they do lead the NFC west which is arguably the toughest division in football.
I have no idea how good a coach Pom Pom Pete Jr is but trying to tie his performance against how well the Seahawks are doing this year is a bit of a reach.

I don't know if he would be interested but I think Jay Dobyns would fit in as a position coach. The man certainly has the UofA connection and the resume to walk in and talk to any kid in the country about coming to the UofA. I've heard he is a heck of a motivator. He's currently head coach at Tanque Verde HS in Tucson so he wouldn't even have to move.

I guess you guys are serious. Fisch is fundamentally in over his head as a head coach. He’s failed up as so many before him have done. He’s Steve Lavin on the gridiron. He damn well better surround himself with time-tested, battle-proven assistants who’ve shown a track record of success at the level he is hiring them at. Otherwise this could really ugly, really fast . . . proof that indeed, things can always get worse.

Alright well I've calmed down since the hire took place, to which I have never been more infuriated at my favorite university ever prior, and this is the post that dragged me back in, because it is so damn on the nose. My sole hope for the Jedd Fisch era is that by the time he's inevitably done in 3-4 years, that he will leave a more full cupboard than that which has been left for him. I do believe he can accomplish that much. Anything else though? Nah. I'm just thankful Bobby's contract is up summer of 2022 and god willing we can go back to functioning as a normal university that makes normal sports hires.

What it feels like is the only way he isn't gone in 3-4 years is being locked in 5-6 win purgatory where he has no options and we don't fire him because of how bad Sumlin left the roster.
If he overperforms that, he'll use us as a springboard like he has other places. If he underperforms, we'll eventually get to firing him.
Being honest, the only one I truly don't want is being stuck in long term mediocrity with Fisch. It sounds like being trapped in a loveless marriage.

I’m sure his pitch is that he’s connected to some of the bigger names in pro football which could mean opportunities down the line. Essentially selling them on a post-Arizona career.
I bet if he gets us to 6-7 wins by year three he’s gone to greener pastures.

They certainly wouldn’t be coming to us for a raise (assuming they are experienced). Just bugs me we had to give him a competitive head coaching salary when he had no market except us. We should have trimmed a half million a year off his and gave it to the assistant pool and reward him IF he got the job done

Former UM DC Don Brown is considered a top candidate. Spent last 5 years at Michigan and had defenses ranked #2, #6, #8, #10 and #56th nationally during his years there.
