Powers is a 6-5, 230, Freshman tight end from Klein Collins HS, Spring, TX. He played QB in HS completing 33 of 63 passes last year for 541 yards and 6 TDs with no interceptions while carrying the ball 58 times for 357 yards and 5 TDs. The best analysis is from Coach Paopao below since no one has actually seen Powers play tight end. What we do know is that he is big, athletic (also a baseball player) and smart enough to know he is not a college QB and to switch to a position that matches his body and skills. He will not have to play right away, but since we are absolutely, positively, without any doubt going to use the tight end this year he will be able to see the field if he is ready.
