Cruz is a 6-5, 227, redshirt Freshman quarterback from Gilbert, AZ. He spent the last 2 years at Washington State where he played in 1 game against USC and completed 5 of 7 passes for 34 yards and 1 TD. He is now quarterback 1A for the Wildcats and will get the start against BYU although Plummer will also get playing time.
For some reason this clip makes me want to rewatch "The Replacements".

The number 9 symbolizes completion. Fisch insisted both Gunners wear #9 to symbolize the seamless flow from offense into defense that will lead to victories.
The flaw in Fisch's reasoning is he overlooks special teams, and is not forcing our gunners there to wear #9. This dooms the flow of completion and is why should have hired Brent Brennan instead. Brennan was noted for a more comprehensive understanding of the importance of numerology in college football.

Absolutely nothing. More of a nod to the football program finding talent in all areas of the program. She was “drafted” by the NFL which is a theme the program is riding on.
