Hunley starts his third year as Arizona's defensive line coach. Hunley was pretty good at football while at Arizona becoming a 2 time consensus All-American (1982 and 1983) as well as a member of the College Football Hall of Fame. Oh, and Anthony Gimino rates him as the #1 player in Arizona history. More importantly he has remained passionate about Arizona Football and making Arizona Football successful and has roots in Tucson. Hunley is home where he should be.
Hunley has had a lot of turnover in the defensive line as they have tried to improve the size and depth each year. This year has a significant improvement in weight, experience, and depth. Now, Hunley has to coach them up so our defense can start catching up to the offense.
Hunley from this spring:
Hunley's number 86 is 1 of 7 retired jerseys at Arizona and all of those players will be included in the countdown.

Back when we had some decent defenses.
I was fortunate to be able to watch Hunley play and he was just a beast as a player - still an open question on whether he can coach imo.

He was in my sr investment class. It was our final semester and he came to 1 class. Professor said he was getting ready for the draft so he was not in town. I also heard that Bob Elliott did his final paper and that in was a detailed plan for investing his signing bonus. As Ecc alluded to above, guy was a beast on the field

Yeah we used to quote the score as Hunley vs the other team. As in Hunley 21, Oregon State 10.

Put it this way, last year we gave up almost 440 points.
When Rickey was around the defense gave up a little more than 200 points in a season on average.
