Weird flex. You don’t waste a scholarship on a long snapper. You get them to walk on.

Personally I like the adventure of a walk-on long snapper or converting a backup fullback to do the job. Is the snap getting to the holder? Is it going to dribble all over the place or fly over everyone’s head? Surprise me!!!

Yeah last year was way too boring when our scholarship long snapper snapped every ball perfectly.

He was a walk on and later was rewarded a scholarship. That’s exactly how it is done. You don’t take a LS in the portal. Show me any other P4 program doing that? Are there any?

With personnel leaving, you don’t waste a scholarship on a transfer portal long snapper. You recruit one and have him walk on and if he performs well, you give him a scholarship. Arizona has not ever taken a scholarship long snapper from another program. This is a first. It’s ok to be skeptical. It’s called critical thinking.

We need someone to perform now, not in 2 years.

There are a lot more important positions to worry about. DL being the most.

So once again Chief/ghost you are bashing the staff. Special teams are critical and yet you keep pounding on the negative narrative.

I remember the days of Alex Zendejas and lost games due to special teams. I remember the loss of field position under RichRod. The staff just got here in January and capable P5 snappers out of HS are probably long gone. I like the idea of having a proven one right now. Let’s see who we miss on before we call this move a poor one

. He was an undrafted free agent after college and has had a long career in the nfl.

I believe that was a joke since Burmeister already exhausted his what seemed like 7 years of eligibility.

Yea, not what you want to hear - depth pieces I could understand and while it would suck; not as impactful as losing starters.

I am not going to get upset when we see players leave because it's happening at all the schools. We will lose some players every year in most of the programs, but we will get transfer players to fill up the roster.

The longer they wait, the more the NIL numbers at the school that is courting them go up. This is a business now. Supply and demand. Capitalism at its finest. This is what they wanted.

But there are a finite number of slots available and they’re not the only guys at their position looking for a new school and a payday. How does staying out of the portal until late make them more money? You don’t get a new job making more money by not applying.

My uneducated guess is that if players are on the fence but may leave if the money is right... they may want to stay out of the portal... while their "people" are doing some work/investigating through some behind the scene channels... Just a thought
