Yes it will.

Johnson on Kaminsky? I don't know. But if we get there we will need to figure something out because Tarc won't work.
SCCat, SJ is strong but he's not that strong. It's either Tarc or no one.

EVCat wrote:I'm not putting that on anybody, because everyone but Stanley looked like shit for long stretches of that half. BAsh is playing like it is November...he is really lucky he didn't get called for a foul on his last defensive "effort", Zeus is rebounding but falling apart everywhere else, TJ is having one of his worst games ever, Rondae wasn't doing much before the injury, Gabe is short on most of his shots, Elliott dribbled the ball off his one face at one point and nearly killed Rondae at another. Outside of Stanley, and to a smaller extent, PJC, the entire team is a dumpster fire right now.

The good news is despite all that, it is tied.

The bad news is that statement doesn't come with a guarantee that you will play better in the 2nd half, or that you aren't going to see Xavier play better (0 Fer from 3).
Yes to all of the above. In the opening minutes I was pissed that Ashley was playing like a freshman, not a Junior. We couldn't get any separation because he missed like 5 shots it seemed. It became contagious. And then TJ with the bad pass and short arming everything made me wonder if somebody had a voodoo doll of him or sumthin. Just glad to be tied. Can't stand Stainy..

Tarc can't even guard Stainbrook.

But we need to worry about Stainbrook first.

There's no way this can be the last game with this group. No fucking way. TJ just settle down and get someone going offensively besides Stanley.

AG couldn't guard Kaminsky last year, so I doubt Stan would have a chance
I don't think we have anyone that can guard Kaminsky, but we know for sure what doesn't work so it's worth giving other things a try.

Personally, I'm more concerned about getting past Xavier right now.

If we don't really want to use Korchek why not just throw him in there for a few minutes to hack the mountain man on every shot? He can't shoot free throws. The guy looks like he's 40 and drinks a liter of Mountain Dew when he goes to the bench. And Zeus is supposed to be a huge NBA prospect? He's getting worked by some sasquatch with no talent.

He really hasn't watched our games.

The difference here isn't inside scoring. The difference here, and in this tournament frankly, is movement without the ball.

Xavier's post guys do it well. ALL of Wisconsin does it well. How does the packline counter?

Zeus problem w stainbrook is he isnt a shotblocker. Stainbrook is so slow and deliberate, he will get eaten alive by a dude who will leave his feet.

We were closing out comically hard on 3s...on one possession, the smallest player on the court got the ball from about 30 ft and pump faked lime a QB that has passed the line of scrimmage....and BAsh sprinted out on him at a full run. Kid just put the ball on the floor and cruised past BAsh and drew a 2nd defender. They did not score on that possession, but it was 5 on 4 ball after BAsh ran himself out of the play, and is indictive of the paint numbers for X...we are not adhering to the principles of the defense we run. Stanley has been the one defender with a hall pass to over play passing lanes off the ball for a steal, but we are seeing lots of panicked reaction to the ball and getting ourselves out of shape.

That's the optimist look, but that's where I am too. I think no chance we play worse in the upcoming half and very significant chance we play better or even much better.

I think, like the OSU game, miller will pick the appropriate spots with this zone.

I look for TJ to bounce back.

I'd actually be interested in seeing Korchek on him for a couple minutes to start the half. We don't need someone more athletic, we need someone smarter and playing better position and Korchek might be able to do that.

The mountain man looks like he's 40 years old. Isn;t there an age limit? I remember someone playing for ASU and they were close to 30.

Totally agree. Issue is we have shrunk the game for them, and we are closer to an "on fire" run being very dangerous. They have done what teams need to do to pull the upset...shrunk the game, made it dependent on a smaller period of time. We need to get a run ourselves if for no other benefit, beyond score, of loosening everyone up. While guys like Stanley and Rondae know they have many games left, guys like TJ are aware each of these games might be the last they play at this level of excitement/passion. Those are the guys more likely to get tight. Stanley looks cool as can be...we need him.

Weak foul call.

Don't really have a goon on the team. Unless . . .

No. . .Scoob isn't a goon. He would be Mugger Fruggin' Doomsday.

(and yeah, Scoob did a little b-ball in high school.)
